I never suggested the Florida was the only team who does this. They clearly aren't. It's why I have a lot of issues with college football...because of how idiotic it is run! A division I team has absolutely
NOTHING to EVER gain playing a Division IAA team. If they beat them by 100, they should have. If they lose to them like Michigan did to Appalacian State, it becomes an embarrassment of historical proportions.

A couple of points. First and foremost, I've seen your posts. Florida could be 2-8 and you'd be on this board telling everyone that they're the greatest team in college football. The more important point is that it doesn't matter what I (or you) think. The idiotic BCS system has already decided that Florida is not a top 3 team, up to this point.
ScarabGator wrote: Every other media source in the country says Florida is the best team
I'm fairly confident that there aren't a whole lot of media sources in Texas or Alabama who think Florida is the best team in the country right now, and unfortunately with the way college football is presently constructed, nobody will ever know if they are or aren't. If any other sport came out and said they were going to have a fucking computer determine who plays for the championship, nobody would ever watch a game!
ScarabGator wrote: It seems like you blame Florida for this schedule when every other team does it.
I do blame Florida for their schedule, considering it is their athletic department who puts the schedule together. I already acknowledged that they are clearly not the only team who schedules these shit teams. Like Florida, I believe ALL college teams should be penalized in the standings for scheduling Division 1AA teams. If I had any control over the BCS, I would automatically drop any ranked team 5 places in the standings just for scheduling a Division IAA team. If they actually lost to that team, I'd completely remove them from the top 25, even if they were ranked 1st, overall! Youapparently don't think the schedule is a big deal. Most college football observers don't agree with you. It's the reason that Colt Brennan was never a serious Heisman candidate, even though he had FAR better numbers than anyone else in college football. People who judge these things looked at the schedule that the University of Hawaii plays and simply said it's not good enough for the school or the QB to be taken remotely seriously! Before you get your panties in a bunch over your beloved Gators, I'm not suggesting that Florida has done this through the whole season. I'm simply making the point that who you play matters and matters a lot.
ScarabGator wrote: In the NFL should NE be ashamed to play Detroit since they are winless and obviously no where near the Patriot's level????
Not a good analogy, dude. First and foremost, New England doesn't play Detroit this season and almost never plays them (I beleive they last played on Thanksgiving of 2002). The larger and more important point is that the Patriots do not decide who they are going to play, and neither does any other NFL team. The NFL, as a league, decides who the out of division opponents are going to be for each team, each season. This was the Patriots year to play the NFC West teams, and that rotates on a yearly basis. There isn't one team in the NFL who gets to decide who they want on their schedule! These schedules are decided several years in advance by the NFL, so there is no way to know if a given division is going to be the best in the NFL or the worst. When a college team schedules a Division IAA team, it is done to pad their win total, period, end of story!
