Where were these bungguzzlers when this stuff had a higher market value? Why wait to hijack 2 mil barrels of it when it's worth drastically less than what it was a few weeks ago? Makes no sense.

I honestly don't think they knew they could do it. Now that it has been done, they've got to feel confident that they can do it again with impunity.

Unless it's some dirty handed inside job. I mean, 450 miles (or so) out in open water... they have yet to make any demands. Just sounds strange to me.

The Saudi's are already talking to them about ransom. Now it appears the Pirates are aligned with the Islamist insurgents in Somalia, which provides them with funding and fresh recruits.

Oh, okay... got it. I had old information on it. I did know they were headed for Somalia instead of the Cape of Good Hope. Wow... what a mess.

Explain this all to me in Cliff's Notes, because I don't feel like reading back over all those posts.
Is 1.99 the bottom before it goes back up, or can I still afford to get some Limon chips with next fillup?

No worries, I'm actually talking out of my ass, trying to sound worldly. Go ahead and spring for the chips.

Pirates hijacked gas. A lot of it.
So far, no effect on market. Who knows what'll happen. AKA, ignore it.

gas wont go up unless we have a cold winter... no one is driving and crude will be down to 40.00 a barrel by mid december.
BGJ spill for the chips, get a six pack as well.

I'm not so sure if Limon Chips and Keystone Light mix all that well together.

Will barrels fall below $50 today? Just in the time it took to take the screen cap and post this, it has already dropped $0.40.

I was right... barrels are trading at less than $50 right now... unsure if it'll close that way, but regardless:

How abou this, gas at $2.00/gal is actually cheaper in terms of inflation adjusted dollars than in 2001, and at any time in the last 30 years!!!!!

When gas was $1.23/gallon in 1983 it's absolute dollar cost was more than the $2.00/gal we have now...astounding!

Some friends and I have decided to get a couple of bass boats, a rope with a grapling hook on the end and some BB guns and head for the coast of africa. A couple of million $$ for a dishonest days work and you can probably get a good tan while you are at it.

I've seen it as low as $1.52/gallon here in the Indy area. Currently, it's around $1.57 on the south side of town.

Fact Finder wrote:Oil is currently trading today at $44.60 a barrel, and January gasoline futures are currently trading at $.99 cents a gallon.

If my calculations are correct we will see $1.00 a gallon gasoline when and if oil hits about $36.50 a barrel.

Todays futures trading can be seen here

The station next to my office has been the lowest I've found without driving up to the IL/WI border...
Last night it was 1.79... this morning it was 1.69. :D

Filled up in East Cincy yesterday at $1.59.

If gas gets to, and stays in the dollar range for awhile, I believe we will see this economy skyrocket.

I doubt it.

For every Yin, a Yang...

Lower gas prices are actually not good for our state's (Louisiana) economy...
