I'm so sorry to hear this, Lula. We love you guys so much. Please give Dean a big hug for CP and I and tell him not to get depressed over this. He can turn it around. He's a smart guy and can do whatever he sets his mind to! Hang in there.

Some people do not get a chance to turn it around.
Deano, you have been given a chance. Take it.
You have a lot of people who care about you and your family.
Don't make us come after you.

Do as you are f**king told for a change.
If not, I will come over there and rub my sweaty armpits in your face.

There, that should do the trick.

Seriously - PLEASE take the doctor's advice.

Love to you, Lula and the bouncing baby.

Lula and Dean, I'm so sorry to hear that also, but it is much better than a full-blown major cardiac event. An uncle had a minor hear attack and with a change in his diet and better exercise habits and the proper medicine he's in better health now than he was before. He actually told me he approaches life differently now and is happier.

My dad's in the same boat - he was lucky enough to have a minor episode which led to a failed stress test which then led to a catherization revealing that his "Widow Maker" artery (so-called because it makes middle-aged men drop dead without a single warning) was 100% blocked, one was 90% blocked, and one was 45% blocked. In other words, he was a walking time bomb. Scary shit.

Heredity is what got him though... He was a Divison I collegiate athlete and kept himself in pretty good shape. He was never overweight. He didn't always watch the types of things he was eating too well and of course grew up not knowing what eating burgers and steak and french fries several times a week could do to you. But, even when he went on a crash diet/workout plan for a year and a half his cholesterol didn't drop a point. Our physician told him at that point he could eat grass and still have high cholesterol. So yeah, the diet/exercise factors are crucial for some people, but in the case of someone with really bad heredity like my dad, he just needs the cholesterol drugs to keep everything squeaky clean.

Anyway, my dad is 53 and in better shape now than when he was 40 and he's feeling much better about himself, so hopefully Dean can do the same! It oughta be an eye opener not just for him, but for the entire family. Not sure if Dean has siblings or family heart history, but now would be a great time for them to go get stress tests as well, that sorta thing...

Oh boy...glad he's ok.

Deano....may your health return back to the levels that let you be back to the Deano that send those god-awful text messages.

Hugs to you and your fam!

Get well soon, buddy.

Just read the thread. That's an "oh shit" for sure.

Deano...hope you're back at full speed soon.

I'm glad you're home and under Lula's care. Lula...take care of the lug.

While completely secondary to your medical situation, I sure miss you around this thing. I hope it wasn't a life changing experience that made you see the light and convert you to the "right!" It's ok if it wasn't, some of my best friends are libs!! :)

Good luck and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
