How Do You Spell Thanksgiving Torture...DETROIT!

Postby Enigma869 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 5:52 am

I will personally pay the NFL a king's ransom to NEVER broadcast another Lions game on Thanksgiving. What a fucking embarrassment to be forced to watch this DREADFUL team, year after year, after year! Just what the country wants to watch on Thanksgiving...an 0-11 team! PATHETIC! Please...NO MORE DETROIT ON THANKSGIVING! While we're at it...fuck Dallas being on every Thanksgiving also. The NFL needs to wake up and realize there are other cities worthy of being showcased on Thanksgiving. The Lions should NEVER EVER EVER be a nationally televised game. It's an insult to every football fan in America. Hell, I wouldn't want to watch this awful team if I were born and raised in Detroit!

I feel your pain bro. Just do what I did and avoid football altogether. Save yourself all this grief and torment. Once you've seen them fight over that ball once, you've seen it a thousand times. Put on Journey/Perry CD and chill.

there will be people who say that its a tradition and might not like it but your right they need to put better teams on thanksgiving because the ratings can't be that good when the lions suck every year and play and nobody wants to watch it because the games are dull.

They put the Lions on Thanksgiving Day because everyone is confined in houses around TVs, with football on because that's the American way, and the NFL Lords knowing this keep Detroit on because this is the one day of the year when people will actually watch a Lions game.

And by watch I mean have it on as background noise, then nap on the sectional after that second slice of pie.

I couldn't agree more with you, John. I was actually thinking the other day that it's time to switch up the teams on Thanksgiving.

How about some “Manchester United vs. Chelsea” action? This could be the one day a year when Americans actually watch soccer (watch may be the wrong word, more like have it on between DVD intermissions).

Do you call that product Detroit put on the field today Football? And WTF is this crap on Fox, the Jonas Bros.? Oh yeah, all those teeny boppers bouncing out of their training bras really shows the NFL as a man's game. Hopefully Kurt Warner will salvage todays earlier trainwrecks and totally light up the Eagles defense.

I could watch Detroit get rolled all day long when I'm laying 11 points and have Tennessee. Detroit laying an egg was just the way I planned to start the day. Dallas needs to cover the 12.5 and Philly needs to cover the 3 and I'll be a happy little camper.

Philly is going to be your only problem today.

I see Mcnabb trying to overcompensate because of last weeks benching, meaning turnovers. Warner will be himself, having one bad throw ran back for a score but I think he'll have enough good chances to make it a 10 point win for the Cards.

Soccer SUCKS! Thankfully, this country will NEVER see soccer on TV during Thanksgiving and most other days as well. It's fucking mindless, and 99% of the people in this country simply don't give a shit about it and never will!

It is especially appropriate for Detroit to play this year on Turkey Day. They are the only team with a worse record than the Bengals. The NFL should change up the teams since it is the 21st century. Tradition out & replace it with teams that did not quite make the playoffs.

Try to give us a good fucking game at least. 3 blowouts, though they did net me a lot of money, aren't really fun to watch. I found myself watching fucking billiards on ESPN much of the day.

I don't care if Detroit came out in frilly laced tu-tus and danced the mambo. (Which is their QB option, isn't it?) What you're suggesting goes so far beyond unappropriate that I could strangle you from there... take away NFL... put in SOCCER? Really... SOCCER? Go hug a ficus! :P

Here's a news flash for ya: ALL sports are fucking mindless. That's why they're called "sports" (and not William F. Buckley's "Firing Line"). :D

If you doubt me, just check out the rogue's gallery of retards the next time the camera pans the stands during an NBA game ...... :D
