OT: Jonas Brothers?

Postby Rick » Fri Nov 28, 2008 11:57 pm

Normally I wouldn't have even watched, but since there's been such a buzz about these guys, I watched them perform during the half-time show at Texas Stadium yesterday.

I was thoroughly and completely unimpressed. Not sure what people see that is so great about them.

My daughter, who is 11, loves them!! They are your typical Disney boy band kind of group. We saw them live when I took her to see Miley Cyrus and they were entertaining. But I thought they sounded terrible during the half time show.

Happy Black Friday. I'm headed to the mall in a few hours... and not because I want to do the whole "big deal" shopping, but this happens to be my one day that I have off and can get to a Sephora. :(

As for the JoBro, I was talking to a five year old last night who loves them. You guys should chat. :P

Good luck with that.  The news anchor was reporting from Woodfield this morning. There were 78,000 people there. At least that's what it looked like.

It's ridiculous what people do. They'll spend more on gas than the cost of online shipping. Sit at your desk, order your gifts, wait for them to arrive, wrap, voila!

Insane

Nov. 28 (Bloomberg) -- A Wal-Mart Stores Inc. worker died after hundreds of customers jammed into a Long Island, New York, store, knocking down the man and stepping on him shortly after doors opened early, the New York Daily News said, citing a witness. A woman also miscarried as hundreds of shoppers rushed through the doors, which were taken off their hinges to accomodate the surging crowd, the newspaper reported, citing another witness. Nassau County police said there were several injuries without elaborating, and wouldn't confirm witness accounts, the New York Daily News said.Image

So much for the recession. If consumers really didn't have any extra money they wouldn't be killing people to get inside of WalMart to spend it.

This year is going to be a lean giving season for us. Giving at Christmas can become a very heavy materialistic burden. I say just work at making yourself and your loved ones happy all year and you won't need the extra ego boost of giving or getting a bunch of expensive Christmas presents. Giving is great when you're doing it out of necessity or compassion... but the obligations to become a Santa Claus at this time of year can be overwhelming for a lot of people who are already struggling financially.

Report from Woodfield Mall... OMG. Wait at the Cheesecake Factory was 80 mins. Made my friend drive, took 20 mins to find parking. Met our friend Nick who also sings w/ 7th Heaven and took his little girl for a makeover at Libby Lu. Crowd has died down to normal. Only craziness were the dudes in front of me at sbux who stole my white mochas... who steals a latte? Really! Time to go attack Sephora! PS I hate malls.
