I agree... I don't mind someone dropping what they feel to be positive news, but it actually hurts them to get defensive or challenging about it. People would have a much better chance of winning friends here if they'd just relax now and wait like the rest of us.

Oh... and I was joking with the "Turkey Day" comment, of course... LOL!

All I can say is that this is a ground floor opportunity to be a close "friend" of Steve Perry. There were only 39 others when I checked it out a while ago. Maybe I'll be #40!

Heck I'm in. I don't care if it's really him or not, I'm willing to take that chance.

No, I've never been a Steve Perry fan per say, more of a Journey fan. I thought the dude was gay up until the Oh Sherrie video and even then, I wasn't sure.

Fan Asylum ran the old Journey fan club, too. SPIN came later. Lora and Cyndy kept us up on everything. They also dealt with all our mail, and calls. They did a whole lot for the fans, then and now. I did not think you were a part of it all. I can tell you it was fun. I lived for the newletters. Those two gals did it all. :D

I forgot to add they did all the interviews with they guys for the newsletters. So I would say Lora and Cyndy have more clout behind their words than people today give them credit for. I have ultimate respect for both ladies. No one would have tolerated anyone dissing them in the past. I am not saying you are Gunbot. But I have heard some not so nice comments their way. I would gather anyone that would be that way to them, never knew them in the old days.

That is my whole point. If anything needs to be passed along from Perry, it will come from them. Myspace, album gossip, all that other crap doesn't mean anything without a verification from fanasylum. I've figured that much out by myself.

I agree, I did not think you were saying anything to the contrary. :D

I was just stating how it bothers me when some show Lora and Cyndy disregard like they are nobodys. Please. These sweet gals are legendary in their own right! The statements were more for the ones who act as though their words are worth nothing. Pisses me off. Especially when I think of all they did, and of how kind they were. Anyone else here who was a JF member can attest to this.

Lora and Cyndy ran a second to none fan club. Fans had a means of staying in the know and there was a relationship between the fans and the band that is sorely missing these days. Journey should strongly consider offering these 2 ladies a crack at their old gig. It's a shame that the band, for whatever reason(s), abandoned this band/fan relationship. I understand that it was probably a casualty of the long layoff, but there's no good reason not to rekindle that relationship...other than the fact that it would cost the band a few dollars. Journey Force made Journey's relationship with its fan unique and is one of the many pioneering ideas Journey introduced to the music business.

Well said. We were like a large family. A great deal of fun and respect to go around. It was a more personal thing. I cannot even describe how great it was to have been a part of it all. SJ......you were a JF member? For how long and when? :D

I have almost all the newletters. I was a member for a while before it ended. Sigh........ Wish it was the way it was back then. We were a close knit group. Lora and I used to talk from time to time about issues over the phone. I bet she barely knows me now. It has been a long time. She helped me so much with the Journey friendship quilt. Not to mention just how nice she was. :D It was a wonderful time and a horrible chapter of my life. They made the bad bearable. I haven't forgotten.

The lyrics have meaning for me to the fans, to Lora. Sorry, Perry is not the only cryptic one....... :D

Anyway Lyrics
Artist(Band):Steve Perry

Anyway

Still I Remember....

I'd like to say I'm sorry
I'd like to make amens
I'd close my eyes and tell the truith
Where would I begin

The story's far from simple
I'm so afaid to show
I never want to run again
I want to let you know

Anyway
What was I saying
Anyway
I seem to have lost my place again

Anyway
So now I need just to forget
But I can't do it
Whoa I try
Anyway

We believed in music
Brothers till the end
Nothin stood between us
The fire burned within

Whoa how I remember
Beneathe the lights
Lost in my insanity
Striving to survive

Anyway
What was I saying
Anyway
I seem to have lost my place again

Anyway
Whoa how I need just to forget
But I can't do
Whoa I try
Still I can't do it
Whoa I try
Oh I try
Anyway

(On and on and on and on)
Still I remember
Still I remember
Haunting me
Calling me
No No -No No -No No

(On and on and on and on)
(On and on and on and on)

Still I remember
Still I remember
Haunting me
Calling me

What was I saying

Anyway

That song is proof positive that Perry has some deep unresolved psychological attachments to his time with Journey and is in some way tormented by them. Something, in his mind, seems unresolved. Poor guy. :(

O.K. On that note, goodnight folks. I did not put it on there to start a Perry bashing. It was a simple thank you to Lora and Cyndy. A nostalgic remeberance of a bitter sweet time in my life. How there are things in your life that are best forgotten, but some good you don't want to loose as well. That is all. Anyway............ 8) 8) 8)

I know that, Lar. This was his way of speaking to them indirectly. Seemed sincere til he cracked the stone and toured without them and then wouldn't tour with them. But Neal and Jon are the bad guys.
