Yes, according to an interview with Neal a while back he and Carlos have talked, they even talked about doing something together with Gregg and Michael C. (sorry, don't know how to spell his name but he was with Santana and has been with Gregg for a while now).



That must be pretty recent because I was just watching this interview recorded in May 2008 where Neal said he saw Carlos at a Santana reunion at Bimbo's in San Francisco a few months prior (so that must have been late '07 or early 2008) and Neal said he wanted to play with Carlos but Carlos refused to play while Neal was on stage. Neal had to leave for Carlos to play.

Asia and Europe would actually both be fantastic openers for Journey, even though Asia refuses to open for other bands.

Ok, I suppose more water has passed under the bridge between the 2 of them since the Blairing Out interview you posted previously. At the end of Part 1 of that interview, Neal said he, Carols and Gregg had met and talked about doing something together. Wish they could work things out for that reunion, IMO it would be way cool.

I think you're right. No way Queen tours with any band. Their show is too big for a opener.

I agree, Drew. Queen didn't approviate the JSS deal. But Paul Rodgers, Deen and Neal close together might garner us some cool as batschutt Muddy Waters re-visit. DANG!!!!!! That would so rock!!!!!

Neal volunteered a tidbit to me a couple of years ago that Carlos didn't credit him on the last greatest hits release so I doubt we will ever see Journey and Santana.

Right there with ya Proggie! Some of the best concerts I've seen in the last year or so have been club and casino shows (JSSB, April Wine, Honeymoon Suite, EM, Scrap Metal, etc.) Bon Jovi concert was great, but it doesn't compare to seeing your favorites in a smaller venue than a huge arena for a fraction of the price. Sooooo many great 70s/80s artists playing clubs/casinos out there right now. If you're only going to arena shows, your missing a sh*tload of great acts. :)

The one thing about Casino shows that I don't like is that they're usually REALLY scripted. ie. "play for 90 minutes tops, hits only, then let the people gamble". To me, there's a big difference between an older act and an OLDIES act. Casinos are ripe with the latter.

A few years ago, Toto played two nights at a Casino near me. I enjoyed the show, but they were too loud, too rude and pulled out too many obscure tunes for the casino happy crowd.

I caught them later at a big club in Minneapolis. Far fewer people than the Casinos, but what an awesome show. They played a lot longer and got into it a lot more too.

I'd prefer bands play baby arenas, small theatres and big clubs before the casinos themselves.

Then again, Casinos apparently pay REALLY well, which is why all the older acts are into them.
