You were a shitty student. I remember him being mentioned.

That's because Tito was next to you, not only mentioning him, but doodling his name in puffy letters across his Trapper Keeper.

What a tragic thing to happen at that school back then...and, such a close call for JC. Glad he is able to bring a healing touch with his music all these years later. And, I've shared it before that "Open Arms" in '81-'82 had a personal spiritual touch for me that changed my life...so I thank him for that.
(wow, didn't know his given name was Leonard)

Local Chicago news channels have been running bits and pieces of this story and today's memorial all day. People are still very affected by this. It's disturbing to hear some of the stories of the children's cries for help. :(

Their loss, unforunately they didn't know he changed his name. If it was still "F" they would've said one of the survivors is in Journey. So, if you follow the rules of the fire drill and live, you can be anything you want to be. The sky is the limit. Very inspirational stuff.

Jeez, G-boy.....harsh........

I've been on a roll with all my Arnel hating today and Perry bashing from yesterday. I just finished with Christmas decorations though, so I should be pretty sedate for the next few days.
Thank god Leonard changed his name, how gay.Rag on tito he started this shit

I believe that is a typical media error unless this is breaking news. I'm pretty sure his name is John Leonard F----. Leonard is his middle name.

"F"? What, is it the new "F" word, or something?

When I'm angry in traffic can I yell "Friga You!" or "Hey, go friga your mother!"

Come on, you can say it. Its his family name, there's nothing wrong with it, and I'm sure he's proud of it. Be proud with him, T-man. 8)

I thought it was actually John Leonard Friga, not Jonathan.
I know for sure I read that, but I don't know if it was accurate.

It would probably be appropriate in this thread because we are talking about his childhood when he was Fr-ga. But, out of respect for him, I'll still not say it. It's Cain.

So, Cain comes into town and we get a random crazy snowstorm? The two have to be connected.
(As for the topic, it is a sad, tragic story... and I'm not very familiar with it other than local lore I've heard and this article.)
Glad you are safe Mr. Cain, nice to see you give back to your community and hometown again. That is all.

Ok, so we all know the name thing has been a joke for awhile now, but in all seriousness, that *is* his family name and there is nothing wrong with it. Its' ok to say it.

I would like take this time to pat myself on the back. I showed great restraint this weekend and I'm proud of myself. I could've easily had gone down to the church and got a couple of autographs specifically the Windy City Breakdown CD but I let common sense prevail and thought that would be too tacky. I just hope someday I get my Windy City Breakdown CD signed.

If you got that from Wikipedia, it's not necessarily accurate. Anyone with an account can edit.
Not doubting you. Doubting Wikipedia (which is probably where I read "John" in the first place).

It would've been tacky Tito...
But I bet you would've gone just for the tribute... right? Fan karma says since you showed restraint then you'll get rewarded with an opportunity to get it signed one day. That's just how it works.

BTW, for the record there was no way I would've gone down there and done that.

Well, any clown can edit that stuff, so who knows - case in point.... if Steve Perry's birth name is still correct on Wiki, you can thank me for that (and is there a bigger clown than I? ), because it was totally wrong when I got there. And far be it for me not to step in and correct things.

Leonard was his dad's name...at least I thought but now I don't know what to think. Anyway, be respectful to his dad and the name Leonard.

I think all this confusion about his name and all of his name changes confirms one thing... He lets you live!
