Journey Influenced by Suzy Quatro?

I am a subscriber to Rhapsody for online music. I was looking at the Journey page on Rhapsody and it listed contemporary artists (Styx, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, etc. to name a few). Under "influences" it listed Suzy Quatro. Not knowing for sure who she was, I looked her up on Wikipedia.

"She is known in the United States as Leather Tuscadero in the TV show Happy Days... Leather was the younger sister of Fonzie's girlfriend, hot-rod driver Pinky Tuscadero. Leather fronted an all-girl rock band joined by principal character Joanie Cunningham. "

What a surprise to hear that Journey was influenced by her music

btw - I will only be listening to music on Rhapsody from this point forward, not reading their reviews or background "information".

This actually wouldnt suprise much at all.

Quatro was actually well respected in the early 70's - toured with ALice Cooper in Austrailia, (she was very popular over there) and the UK. Worked with Jeff Beck, also did lots of guest appearances with Deep Purple ,Pentangle, etc . Not as popular in her native US as overseas.

Not all out of the bounds of imagination that Schon, Valory, and Rollie would have respected and been influenced by her. She had a deep Detroit connection to- Perry might have appreciated her too

She always used to open with a song called "The Girl Cant Help it". I assume this was a cover of Little Richards Girl Cant help it, Who knows Cain and co, got the idea from QUatro .

Btw- Its worth having a quatro or two album in your collection.

The first album I ever asked my mother to buy - Suzi Quatro's 'Can The Can'; I was two. It's still a good album.

Influenced by Suzy Quatro?! I remember her from the t.v. show "Happy Days" way back when & couldn't stand those episodes with her...I thought she was just an actress from that show, 'tho.
