All are great pieces of work and it defiantly shows the passion in each stroke. I personally liked the geometric art. Something about it screams museum.. and just how the piece captivates the eyes. All great peices though..Would like to see more if anyone else has stuff!

I got a new one to post tomorrow. I'm very pleased with it. Cam's batteries went dead so I have to go get new ones in the A.M. I drew a picture of Heath Ledgers, "Joker." Came out quite nice I suppose..

This took me a good portion yesterday. What a stress relief. You literally get lost in your own little world. I would have to thank Journey's Higher Place to get me through, I listened to it while drawing at least 15 times.

Very nice drawing! It is easy to recognize his face. Hardest part about portraiture is likeness. You did quite well!

Have you ever tried Graphing a photo? It will increase acuracy of eye had coordination. PM me and I will give you instructions. I can also suggest good books to help improve your drawing skills. You are on the right path.

The best way to become a good artist is practice, and time. I spend a minnimum of 40 -120 hours total to finish a peice. I work no less than an hour a day drawing. I need to put more to it but I work all day, so I have less time than normal.

We have quite a few good artists on this site who can give you pointers. I am not quite where I want to be yet, but I am getting farther along each day!

I kept practicing drawing these monsters. I wish I still had the drawings AND the set. I may buy them and start drawing again. You've got my artistic juices flowing again...

I kept practicing drawing these monsters. I wish I still had the drawings AND the set. I may buy them and start drawing again. You've got my artistic juices flowing again...

SM, nothing wrong with drawing dragons. Check out an artist named Graeme Base. He did a whole book on dragons called "The Discovery of Dragons". He is from Austrailia and has beautiful work! He did other famous childrens books as well. He is an author and illustrator, and I just recently found his work while I was at the bookstore.

I saw a book in the bookstore called "The Art of Graeme Base". It has pictures of all the books he made. I picked it up because I thought I found a kindred spirit, I feel his artwork is in the same genre as mine. Only thing, I have only been doing the fantasy thing for three or four years and his experiance over mine shows. He is phenominal! I plan to do a lesson about him once we get the villages done. I want to use him as a featured artist of Austrailia. The class will love him! I also plan to show some of my fantasy art as well. I will have the children to take a letter of the alphabet, and put as many pictures with the letter in their drawing. Then I will have them make a rhyming poem. I think they will love it!

I was wondering what artist came from Austrailia, when I happened on the book.......strange coincidence! LOL! He seems to be a man after my own heart. He and a guy called James Christensen.

My favourite Australian artist is Norman Lindsay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Lindsay As well as challenging the (rather staid) Australian art world, he also got sick of the children's literature available at the time, and so wrote a book for his children that has become an Australian classic - "The Magic Pudding". Food, friends, travelling, singing, more food, thieves, plots, plans, uncles, sailors, and penguins - everything you could ever want in a kids book!

Those are great artists from your end of the planet, Arianddu. If you see the above site for my artwork, you can tell why I love these illustrators. I only hope to be as good someday! Hope you are well, know I plan to feature an Aussie in my classes soon. The librarian saw my book on Base's work, she gushed! She loves Graeme Base, and has several of the books he done in our library. I will check them out sometime soon. Meanwhile, know I adore the illustrators from your country, they put fine art into every stroke!
