OT: Fleetwood Mac is Back (2009 Tour)

Fleetwood Mac will tour for the first time in five years starting in March, and the tour will continue into the late spring and summer.

Mar 14 Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun
Mar 16 Rochester, NY - Blue Cross Arena
Mar 17 Albany, NY - Times Union Center
Mar 19 New York, NY - Madison Square Garden*
Mar 21 East Rutherford, NJ - IZOD Arena*
Mar 23 Ottawa, ON - Scotiabank Place
Mar 25 Montreal, QC - Bell Centre
Mar 26 Toronto, ON - Air Canada Center

I will be at the St. Paul show...

ILAA packages will be available for these shows, and although the prices aren't announced yet I am placing my bets at $425 for a 5 star package.

I saw them back in '83 or so, and it was a great show. If they come to my neck of the woods, I'll certainly try to get to that show.

Good stuff, I always wanted to see them. Lindsey Buckingham's latest solo effort, "Gift of Screws," is really good. If you like Lindsey or his guitar playing, get it!

Always wanted to see them but have never been able to afford it...doubt this time will be any different. Saw Lindsey's solo tour in '06 though and it was absolutely amazing. His new album is great.

A. Christine is in retirement, she wishes them the best, but will not be touring.

B. Both Stevie and Lindsey sang a couple of their solo tunes the last couple of times I've seen them.

C. Stevie's range is a little lower, but she brings along her backup singers to help her out.

I've seen them on their last two or three tours and they are still definitely worth seeing! I"m trying to figure out if I can make it to that St Paul show.

I couldnt say mate - what isnt? - all i know is i cannot wait to get my hands on it. I'm very glad she still wants to push it a little, and she has a good band around her. Of course The Mac has one of the great guitarists ever - a true original who i admire a great deal.

What i have heard is very very good - will probably buy it at some point - but at this time of year the wish list is huge and my girlfriend has been hogging the downloads with Leona Lewis etc - i prefer to own the CD anyway - old and old fashioned!

Yup, that concert is pretty good from what I've heard ot it. I have the audio ripped from broadcast of that show but haven't sat down and listened it all yet.

Speaking of Lindsey solo, I have the dvd to his soundstage show from a few years ago. And I believe he had Stevie there as his guest .... they sang a few duets. Never seen/heard of him before other than the group effort with Fleetwood Mac. Really amazed with his energy and vocals -- for a old man. He played/sang all his old FM hits -- still sounds great, albeit with a lower voice. On the old records, he sounded so much like a girl, I thought it was a girl that sang those hit songs that was all over radio.

RANTING TIME....

Get a load of this....want a 5 Star ILAA Fleetwood Mac package? It's going to cost up to $1,000 per ticket, and you won't even get to meet the band. Fear not, they will give you some crappy food before the show, and even a "souvenir laminate". Yippee!

I hope that ILAA goes out of business for the disservice that they do to fans. Their only job is to jack up ticket prices into the stratosphere. And their slogan...."Where TRUE fans get tickets" is quite inaccurate. What about those fans who don't have $2,000 lying around collecting dust? I guess if you can't afford to pay two thousand dollars for a pair of tickets, you aren't a TRUE fan.

Paying $1,000 per ticket is like writing an $850 check out to ILAA and Fleetwood Mac for a gift bag and a "souvenir" laminate".

I paid $120 for a front row AC/DC ticket thanks to their fan club and paperless ticketing from Ticketmaster. If only all arena shows could work like that.....
