Romo gets WAY to much credit for being a good QB, when the reality is that the guy has never won a fucking thing and still makes more mistakes than rookies like Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco!

It looked like Derek Anderson on those last two drives. Horrendous.

Don't give Flacco too much credit. Although he's done a reasonable job for a rookie, Baltimore is winning because of their stifling defense, as usual! Flacco isn't ranked in the top 20 for yards passing and isn't ranked in the top 15 for touchdown passes. He is ranked 19th in QB rating and 17th in completion percentage. The only guys who throw for fewer yards per game are the likes of Bulger, Thigpen, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Russell, Hasselbeck, JT O'Sullivan, Kerry Collins, and Derek Anderson. Not exactly a hall of fame list of quarterbacks!

I was giving him Trent Dilfer type props, don't kill us with too many rookie mistakes and give us a few drives longer than 3 plays so we can catch our wind.

Stupid assessment dude. I love your respect for the great Barry Sanders, but to say that officiating is more important than the level of talent a team has is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard a sports fan make.

For what it's worth, I do think the officials blew the Deion Branch call. His heel looked like it was clearly out of bounds and I'm not sure how they missed it. That said, officiating will never decide more games than talent will! The fact that New England is missing Tom Brady, Adalius Thomas, Rodney Harrison, Ty Warren, and lost Vince Wilfork and Tedy Bruschi in this game was the reason Seattle was even close. It is VERY, VERY difficult to overcome those injuries.

I suspect if the Colts just lost just Peyton Manning, and not one other player, they wouldn't finish with an 8-8 record. If the Patriots make the playoffs, they will be eliminated in the first round, because their defense is AWFUL, and their team is simply decimated. It's still a remarkable run for a team who has had to sign Junior Seau and Rosevelt Colvin this week, because they simply don't have enough healthy bodies to field a team on Sunday.

A couple of points here...First and foremost, don't EVER call a guy from Boston a "Yankee"! Now that we have that out of the way...Philllips is a fucking buffoon and always has been. Do you seriously think it's just a coincidence that everyone has been picking Dallas to win it all the past two seasons and they can't get out of their own way. Perhaps you don't watch football, beyond "The Big D". I do, and am well aware of the pathetic head coach Phillips has been, EVERYWHERE he has been! He's about as good as Norv Turner is as a head football coach. Neither guy deserves to be a head coach in the NFL, and I suspect that both of them will be fired at the end of the season. As far as Phillips being "a player's coach", that will NEVER be a compliment. In fact, "player's coach" is simply a euphemism for a buffoon who doesn't know how to take control of his team. As for your assessment that only people in the northeast have a disdain for the Fraud Boys, think again. Most people outside of Dallas can't stand them, regardless of which part of the country they happen to reside in! They're essentially the Notre Dame of the NFL. Two teams who used to be good, but it was so damn long ago that nobody remembers!

Sounds like Marty maybe going back to Cleveland. He'll probably want to pickup a good running back to take pressure off of Quinn. Maybe trade Anderson for a better draft selection.

It's an interesting question to be asking now, but I know a whole lot Browns fans who didn't feel that way at the beginning of the season. In fact, I said on this very board, before the season started, that I wasn't sold on Anderson. I had yahoos like "Journey/Survivor" telling me Cleveland was going to the Super Bowl. Funny how he hasn't made a single comment about the Girl Scouts since that point. Crennel should have never been hired as a head coach and Anderson was simply Scott Mitchell (i.e. a guy who had one decent season). The history of the NFL is replete with guys who have had one good season. It doesn't mean anything and never has. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile!

Larry...you're a good dude, but you really need to brush up on your sports knowledge. You do realize that it was the Cowboys themselves who actually gave themselves the nickname "America's Team", right? It's always been common knowledge and most folks around Dallas even know this. It's a big reason so many people hate them. It's the most arrogant and pompous thing a team could ever do. Dallas is "America's Team", in their own mind, and nowhere else. There is no "America's Team" in ANY sport! It's the most moronic term I've ever heard, especially considering that 90% of the country doesn't even consider them to be their own team!

I certainly wasn't one of them. I was screaming for Quinn about 2/3 of the way through last season. Anyone that watched all the Browns games could see that Anderson WAY overplayed the first 1/2 of the season. And that dumb ass GM, Phil Savage, could have tendered him for a 1st and 3rd round pick. Back then there were enough people outside of Cleveland that would have traded for him!! But that dumb ass signs him to a BIG extension!!!!! Now he isn't worth squat!!

And don't get me started on Romeo Crennel either. I haven't been sold on him since about Season 3. And they gave him a contract extention too!!! Romeo is gone after this season. Although after today's embarassment of a game if I were the owner he would be gone tomorrow!! The book is still out on Phil Savage. He could be gone too.

I just hope and pray Quinn turns out to be the QB I am hoping he can be.

No you can't! It's stupid, period, end of story! There have been teams who have had just as much success, and even far more success than the Cowboys have had and aren't calling themselves "America's Team". As far as I know Dallas has won a whopping 5 NFL Championships. The Yankees in baseball have won more than 5 times that many and the Celtics in basketball have won more than three times that many, so I can assure you that the Cowboys didn't invent a winning sports organization, and aren't close to the best at it!

larryfromnextdoor wrote: and folks know the Dallas Cowboys and who is the quarterback

Dude...get a grip. Contrary to what you think, being the QB of the Cowboys isn't royalty! People didn't know who the QB of the Cowboys was when his name was Steve Beurlein, Tony Banks, Quincy Carter, et. al. They only know his name now because he's banging some hot, dopey chick, who happens to be famous. Unfortunately for Romo, being famous for the chick you're shacking up with means nothing and gets you no wins. Tom Brady is banging a much hotter chick, but he seemed to remember that his objective in life wasn't to be famous because of his girlfriend, but rather his on field performance!

larryfromnextdoor wrote:if the Cowboys would have been undefeated as of last week , then the entire world would have known it

Right, because nobody made any mention about the Patriots being undefeated last season  Dude, you really need to get a clue. It's okay to like the Cowboys. Even sucky teams need fans. But, please stop making it sound like the world revolves around them and that they are the marquis franchise in the NFL. They haven't been in many, many years, no matter what you think. Winning is all that matters, and the Cowboys haven't done much of it, since Aikman and Emmitt retired!

Careful what you wish for! If I were you, I'd be FAR more concerned about Indy. They haven't lost a game in two months, and Peyton Manning is FAR more scary than anything the Ravens can put out there. Baltimore and Tennessee have comparable defenses. Tennessee has a far superior running game. Both teams have sucky receivers and marginal QB's. The only shot Tennessee has of beating the Colts is if they completely shut down Manning, because they simply have zero shot of scoring enough points that I believe it will take to beat the Colts.

Winning is all that matters, and the Cowboys haven't done much of it, since Aikman and Emmitt retired!

i must say.. all your points are valid.. funny though.. folks around these parts compliment other teams when they are good.. folks around your area get red faced when others are better..

how was that superbowl last year?

yet .. we said you had a good ..............."non cheating " team.. you should get down on your knees and thank Texas for our thoughtfullness..
