Miami committed an obvious defensive penalty that only tied the game in Overtime. It was a delayed penalty only because the ref didn't know whether to call defensive holding or pass interference. If you watch the whole play the defender was all over him and since the ball was passed to him, you have to call the penalty, otherwise Miami would have won on a no call. Ohio State then scored a td and stopped Miami to win the NC.

You are incorrect about the fluke no call (it was the exact opposite). You "bought in" to the hate Ohio State hype. Ohio State is 4 -2 in the BCS and 4 -1 in Arizona Bowl games.

Relax. Ohio State isn't even really in the conversation here. The meat and potatoes is whether Florida should even be in the fuckin BCS title game. Ohio State will get their teeth kicked in this year by a pissed off Texas team, who, if they win, IMO, can claim at least a share of the title, as they beat OU already.

Now you OSU fans are almost, not quite, as bad as Florida fan. Florida fan is dazed and delirious. He walks around thinking the CFB AND NCAA BB seasons revolve around Gainsville. He doesn't realize how fucking retarded he looks doing the chomp in the parking lot of the local Bass Pro Shops parking lot, while Jethro and Billy Bob shotgun Light beers and wear sleeveless too tight flannels, yelling, not talking, "git er done!" When someone other than Florida fan questions why they are even in the Nat'l Championship game, they resort to full scale blow up attacks, never once addressing a serious question, like, how do you explain that loss at HOME to those juggernuats from Ole Miss? They instantly go to the, "We will rip your fuckin heads off and don't ever come to the swamp" card. Haha, the Swamp. Hell, good old Jevan Snead did you in your own crib.

Now onto Ohio State. The Vest needs to do a better job of recruiting some talent, and not just some corn fed hogs up front. Yeah, I know that's Big Ten FB, but after Clarrett left, they have been a bit thin at RB and QB. And I love OSU's (no I won't refer to them as THE Ohio State University), out of conf schedule. Youngstown State, and Troy. Impressive. The one good team you scheduled OOC was SC and they got you by 5 TD's. No wonder OSU doesn't play big boys OOC.

classic funny... alomst reads like a Deano post.... agree about the florida fan...... GO SOONERS... sorry gator fan. GO BUCKEYES... and go Long Horns BIG 12 rules.

The pecking order changes every year. This year, you are correct, the Fiesta gets to go first. However, The Rose Bowl has a stipulation that if their bowl does not feature a 1 or 2 team, they can have their PAC10- Big Ten game, as they have this year. Had SC or PSU been 1 or 2, they of course would be in Miami and not Pasadena.

The Big 12 is affiliated with the Fiesta Bowl, so Texas (as next-in-line from the Big 12 after Oklahoma) goes there.

Well, I guess they are. However, in reality, Texas Tech beat them and had identical record but you know the all holy BCS...

The SEC is affiliated with the Sugar Bowl, so Alabama (as next-in-line from the SEC after Florida) goes there.

Makes sense geographically.

The Fiesta Bowl gets to pick whichever at-large they want to play Texas, so they pick Ohio State.

Why would they pick Ohio State you ask? A boring, Big Ten team who seemingly gets hammered in every big bowl game in recent memory(before you say "they beat Miami"..true, but it was on a fluke no call PI in the end zone). The Fiesta picked OSU for one reason. Buckeye Nation travels as well as anyone in the nation(Notre Dame in Hawaii will sell out too because all the rich fuckin Catholics)...will wing on over to the Big Island and watch their beloved 6-6Irish battle the Rainbow Warriors.

So the Fiesta Bowl gets the more attractive matchup on paper, because they get dibs on who they want to play before the Sugar Bowl does.

You and Granners think alike? "On Paper"

I am actually going to pray, morning, noon and night for not only an Oklahoma victory, but a fucking blowout of colossal proportions. Texas and Oklahoma are the two best teams in CFB and USC is third best. I can't wait for Tebow to run that high school inside flip, option bullshit against Oklahoma. Those goat roping corn fed ox fuckers will rip his fucking head off and shit down his neck. And that Florida defense is in for a long day. Their D line is not very good. Meyer knows OU will run over him like an Afghan child who found five bucks, sprinting to the new Kabul McDonalds...he will have to stunt his safeties and take chances with his corners in order to stop that freight train O line of OU; then Bradford will toss over the top or into the middle via slants and quick hitches and it's bye bye gators.

Granny...a great big BS to you on your comments re: the National Championship game TOSU won over Miami.

Truth be told, the game should NEVER have even gotten to OT as Miami got away with several calls, including a BLATANT P.I. that was never called.

Get over it. "Thug U" got beat that night fair and square.

Now, as far as TOSU getting hammered this time by Texas...all you HATERS out there assume an awful lot. Let's watch and see how the team fares!

You havent made one truthful comment about anything other than what sounds like a jealous fan of another team that always underachieves. There used to be another poster on here that shared the same outlook, I think he was a Washington State fan.
"Granny", Everything you said about Florida's inability to cover OU sounds like the same shit I heard about Alabama, who I believe would also beat OU and anyone in the PATHETIC Pac10. Florida took their hearts and showed them reality just as they will do to OU. I can promise you that Bob Stoops doesnt share your feelings as many of the rational OU fans dont as well. Once again it comes down to such jealousy over the SEC that you dont see things clearly. If you really think Urban Meyer is concerned about the OU defense then you need to switch the brand of beer your drinking. Urban knows this team plays in the SEC and nothing outside of the conference is more than what we've already seen throughout the year. Stoops knows his team is in for a dogfight. He knows his team is playing the toughest game they'll play this decade. "Granny", I know you'll never give any credit to Florida and I dont expect you too but rather than butting heads with you here Im gonna just chalk it up to what I know vs. what you know. Florida by +14.

Little boy, put down the Miller Lite.

1- Jealous? Nope. I never claimed Washington State was a juggernaut. In fact, I made more fun of them than anyone I know. They were dogshit. However, I graduated from there, not just a fan as you said.

2- Alabama DID run roughshod over your D line. Why Saban went away with that I have no idea. Florida could not stop their run. You must have been at a different game than the one I watched.

3- Why bring the PAC 10 into this? I know they suck this year, but the SEC sure as Hell didn't set the world on fire.

Instead of insults, why don't you answer, or spin in your case, the fact that Florida LOST at home to an unranked team, while all the other 1 loss teams took care of their business at home. I thought "no one came out of the swamp alive?" Apparently, Ole Miss never received the memo. They went in there and beat your asses. I do not recall USC losing at home to say, Cal(a Mississippi equivalent)? I don't recall OU losing to Baylor at home, or Texas losing to Kansas State at home, or Tech losing to Iowa State in Lubbock?

Why does Florida, a team that played a weak OOC schedule, lose at home to an unranked also ran, play for it all, while Texas, who beat your BCS championship opponent already, get to wax OSU in Phoenix? Or USC beating the snot out of the Buckeyes, has to play Penn State? Count your blessings.

So if OU does smoke you in the BCS champ game, you have to conclude that Texas is better than you as well, since they beat OU handily.

Those are all facts, not pom pom bong water.

I swore I wasnt getting into this crap but the Ludes some people take really send comment flares in the air. First I think its really AMAZINGLY FUNNY that you say Im throwing insults. All youve done for a long time but especially this past weekend is sling insults at Florida and obviously because of the "Billy Bob-Get er done" comment their fans as well. The way I see it is even if Florida won that game against Ole Miss and went undefeated you would insult them because they didnt score enough points or Urban wore the wrong shade of khaki pants that day. This I believe to be fact-no matter what Florida, hell or even any SEC team does for that matter it still doesnt deserve your respect. Whatever dude, all the SEC does is goes out and beats everyones ass. There is a reason why the SEC is in their 3rd consecutive National Championship and 4th one in the last 5 years and guess what? THEY'VE WON THEM ALL!!!! Oh wait, its because those other teams shouldnt have been in that game right????
Second I think its HILARIOUS, and I mean FUCKING HILARIOUS that a Pac10 fan talks about ooc scheduling. Lets see-Florida played Hawaii-a BCS team from last year, Miami-a state rival who always is one of the countrys top teams, Florida State-a top 20 team when we played them in their stadium and The Citadel. Yeah I know the Citadel was not a top quality opponent and Im embarassed they were on the schedule. But that was 1 team that was a weak ooc opponent. I have no shame in this ooc schedule and the rightful team is playing OU in the BCS Title game.

Yes, Florida belongs in the BCS title game. You have to be an idiot to think otherwise. Texas does have a beef, but they only have their own conference to blame and not the BCS. If the Big 12 had some balls, they could have put Texas in thier conference championship game since they beat Oklahoma in the regular season.

I am simply pointing out your inaccuracies. There was no controversial "no call" in the Ohio State/Miami game. There was a pass interference call made and correctly so. You don't even know that Miami, Florida St and Ohio State has the most NFL talent currently. So your recruiting argument is baseless. Beanie Wells sucks so bad that he is projected to be the top RB taken in the nfl draft: http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009 ... cfm?pos=RB

You are too stupid to know that Troy is in a bowl game this year. They have played LSU, Georgia, Florida and Ohio State the last 2 years and they almost beat LSU. Your sorry ass team couldn't beat Troy. They have a great spread offense and a great football program. ALL TEAMS have a cupcake out of conference schedule, so what is your point? In January Ohio State would have played Texas 3 times in 4 years, and unfortunatley besides USC, there isn't a PAC 10 team to play.

I can understand the hate for Ohio State, I live in the heart of SEC country and live with it everyday. You make up shit and pass it along as truth which hurts your credibility.

Ohio State is going to get throttled by Texas. Ohio State's D is good enough to slow the Longhorns down, but will not be able to stop them and OSU's offense will not be able to do anything to keep up. I predict something along the lines of the USC - OSU game earlier this season. In my opinion this should be Boise State in this bowl and the only reason it is not is money. Texas would have manhandle Boise this year as well, but Boise still deserved the bid. Penn State will get throttled by USC as well. Alabama/Utah may be a good game. VT and Cincy is kind of a throwaway game and VT should handle them pretty easily.

The system is just flawed.

The logic that puts Oklahoma in over Texas, would put Alabama in over Florida.

Oklahoma lost to Texas by 10 on a neutral field and Texas lost on the road to Texas Tech. Texas Tech being a one loss team.

Alabama lost to Florida by 11 on a neutral field and Florida lost at HOME to Mississippi. Mississippi being a four loss team.

I would say Alabama's case, using this logic, is stronger than Oklahoma's.

Now I believe Florida is the better team and won the conference championship game so they get the automatic bid, but why the championship game? Too many variables that need to be worked out on the field.

Oklahoma/Florida will probably be the best game of the BCS games. To me it is just the last game and not a championship due to the flawed system that gets us to this point.

Without a playoff system we will never see a true national champion.

And in the meantime whoever wins the game, Florida or Oklahoma will celebrate our National Championship with the rest of the country.

Wrong yet again.....The winner of UF/OU, and the winner of USC/PSU WILL and SHOULD share the National Title....

yeah, you keep thinking that....Im not wrong at all. After its all said and done we'll see how many NC's there are...anymore than that would just be the pretenders floating around in your head.
And the folks who says we should have a playoff-I agree 100%. But in the meantime should everyone just quit playing the game???? Should the players be penalized??? For now this is what we have so either live with it or stop watching college football.

Never should we stop playing. Playing for a conference championship is enough to keep playing, even with the flawed BCS system. My team is probably never going to be even discussed in the BCS talk, but playing for a conference championship is the goal for now.

ScarabGator you are certainly entitled to your opinion that should Florida win they should be national champions regardless of anything else, such as Alabama, Texas, USC all having one loss just like your Gators. What if Utah beats Alabama? They are undefeated and beat the best team on Florida's schedule this year? Should they not be national champions? Too many variables.

I, however, believe if Florida was one of the ones on the outside looking in you would have a completely different opinion.

Hollywood, I never have before and I wouldnt now. I believe in the game and I love the passion it evokes. Remember-Florida didnt even win a conference championship until 1991, so I have been on the outside. They didnt even get that until after I finished my UF education! I remember a certain year in 1979 when Florida went 0-10-1. I thought my dad was gonna die that year! What I want is the best teams to play for the title. Listen to the coaches around the country...all except Mack Brown says the BCS got it right this time. I believe, Gator or not that they did also.

It should be pointed out that when OSU lost to USC this season that Chris Wells had to miss the game due to injury, and that Terrell Pryor was not the starting QB.

And OSU was about to beat PSU until a fumble at the end of the game cost them the game. Take away that fumble and OSU are in the Rose Bowl this year. And if Chris Wells had played in the USC game, and if Pryor was the starting QB, then OSU at least makes it a much closer game.

There are players from everywhere, but yes, Texas has more kids on the roster than Oklahoma does. It's something like 44 - 36.

The NCAA does not officially recognize any national champion in football. It has a group of outside sources which does this. If these sources award a team a championship, than the NCAA recognizes that. In 2003 , the AP was a recognized source and that's how we had split champions. That is why USC is allowed to hang a National Championship banner in their stadium for 2003 and sell merchandise stating that, without being penalized by the NCAA. The NCAA doesn't mind having more than one champion as all the merchandise sales and such mean greater profit for them. I believe this is because of the bowl games and the thinking that every bowl is a championship game. It creates a unique situation where the NCAA makes money off of a dozen championship games instead of one.

I know all about winless seasons and they hurt. It is about the game. The point I was trying to make is that you believe that Florida is one of the best two teams in the country. I am not saying I disagree, I have seen the job that Urban Meyer can do first hand in the Mountain West Conference. He is one of the brightest football minds out there. What if the pollsters and computers had favored USC over Florida giving us a Oklahoma/USC national championship you would not be saying the BCS got it right, would you? You would still believe that Florida was one of the best two teams in the country. All of the coaches say the system did the best job it could under the circumstances.

Bottom line is that I believe the Big 12 and SEC are the two best conferences this year. It is not even close. To have their champions in the last game of the year seems fitting. Florida is, in my mind the SEC champion. The Big 12 is not an easy decision. They have three one loss teams that all have one loss to one of the other 3 and have beaten one of the other 3. They are also all in the same division of the conference and all 3 would have or already had beaten Missouri. They did not make the right decision, because when choosing two teams out of 119 teams for a national championship you cannot cover all the variables.

Sigh. We're the farm system for everywhere. But then again, 1) football is religion in Texas, and 2) we have 1,046 school districts, most of which have one or more high schools that have football teams.

Well, honestly, you'd have that same problem choosing 6 - 8 - 10 teams, however many you wanted for a "playoff". There will always be someone on the outside looking in, due to the fact there are 119 teams.

Hmmmm....not really. You have the undefeated teams(if any), and then the one-loss teams. Hopefully that will bring you to 8. And if by chance you have a couple of those weak conference teams, you let them in. After getting there asses handed to them enough times(cause this isn't March Madness, upsets hardly ever happen in NCAAFB), they won't be so quick to cry foul.....

Not really as you would have conference champions getting automatic bids and a few at large. It should be a 16-team playoff. Four weeks of great college football with the first two weeks at the higher seeded teams home site and the final 3 games played at neutral sites. There would be disappointment that some may be left out, but i would not affect the outcome. In the NCAA basketball championships you have disappointed teams that feel they did not get that last 12 seed, but a 12 seed was not going to win it all anyway.
