OT - AM Gold

Postby S2M » Tue Dec 09, 2008 3:52 am

OK...I'm home and bored.

A few months ago I decided to track down all those AM songs I used to hear in my mother's car in the 70s.

I figured we could post some youtube videos of some of those old AM Gold standards...

England Dan & John Ford Coley - I'd Really Love to See you Tonight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRFZUB3NzGs

and like one poster said below the video: How do we get chicks to dig this without feeling gay?

I can't youtube at work, so I'll do some later. This should be a fun thread. :)

The first couple that came to mind (if somebody can find it on youtube) was Season's in The Sun, I think it was by Terry Jacks? And Dream Weaver by Gary Wright?

Lol. I have those '70s AM Gold CDs. Here's one of my faves, "Midnight at the Oasis": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYUlqqq85xY This song will always remind me of being 14 spending the night at a friend's, lying in the dark with the glow of the radio/stereo - she always slept with the radio on.

oh, gee I haven't heard that one since the 70s! Helen Reddy was so popular back then and had a t.v. show...remember "Delta Dawn"? She and Ann Murray seemed to be on the radio all the time.

Does this count? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A81fwLNklSM&feature=related
Because most of my memories of listening to the car radio as a kid seem to involve singing along to 'Afternoon Delight' and not understanding the jokes my Dad was making about it.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
