Max is a winner either way, as he gets paid much more by Bruce than Conan, but maybe he likes the night TV stuff. Reports of a disgruntled Bruce guitar tech that "only received 6 figures" in a departure case, lends me to believe Maxy will join the E Street Band for a tour.
Seriously... glad you're doing better, and it's good to see you.G.I.Jim wrote:Rockindeano wrote:I think this has to do with Max. max is destined to follow the Springsteen tour. No doubt. WHY do people like Leno so much... BORING.
Jana wrote:He will do a primetime 10:00 show Monday through Friday similar to what he's doing now. He was being approached by other networks, and NBC didn't want him competing against them. How will this work out, though, in competing for guests. Now it will be Leno and Conan, on the same network, vying for guests, and then whoever replaces Conan at 12:30. There's only so many celebrities and the like to interview.

Who gives a fuck? He's a damn idiot. I have probably only watched his show twice in my whole lifetime. He is the one of the worst comedians I have ever watched. I figured the only reason he is still on the air is because old grannies like to watch him.

Tell us how you really feel! You need to quit holding all of these feelings inside, and learn to really open up and communicate how you really feel. You'll feel a lot better!

Okay, here goes: I love Jay Leno. He is soooo funny!!!! I am so glad they signed a new deal with him. What would I do without him?

Go away, Jay.

What's the purpose of passing the torch to your late-nite successor, if you intend to be just as omnipresent on the network, if not more?

I agree. Despite what's been said, he's basically taking the Late Night show with him into primetime, along with concomitant higher advertising revenues.
If the economy continues to sour, and advertising revenues slump, NBC will dump Conan and keep Leno, all else being equal. NBC is already talking about scaling back programming. "Why effectively support two Late Night comedy shows?" they'll ask.
This economic bubble bursting is going to have a lot of casualties by the time it's over .....

Jana wrote:Leno just said on TV they won't fight over guests. That he and Conan will work it out, about who gets what guest and to not do the same guest within a few weeks of each other and not ask the same questions. But he said there will be no problem. Oh, sure. Right. Uh-huh, if you say so, Jay. Poor Conan. Now he has to fight for the usual A list celebrities with competing shows and now Leno on his own network.
