As far as the tree....I'm afraid there's no good solution, you could try putting a fence around your tree but your best bet is to just decoreate the top half of the tree...or, put ornaments that it's OK to play with on the bottom half.

Glad you all enjoyed the tune! I just went back and listened to that mix through the computer speakers instead of the headphones I mix with and holy crap was that a bad mix...I lowered the vocal track and reuploaded it, and it should be more listenable now. Anyway, it's just a holiday song, so it was dashed off pretty quick last night.

Thanks for the suggestions RE the tree, we'll have to see what works! This morning I told Q the tree was "hot," like our fireplace which he knows not to touch. That made him a little extra wary but who knows if that will work.

Australians have a version of that - 'nicies' and 'bities'. Ice cream is a nicie, so are cuddles. Fires, christmas tree ornaments and spiders are all bities. Works well!

It's funny how bare the bottom of the tree looks when you have kids and finally give up on decorating the bottom! WAYYYYYY too many broken ornaments. Did you know you can pull a whole tree over just by pulling the bottom strand of lights??

Great song by the way. This is one of my all time favorite songs. I always wished Perry would have put out a Christmas CD and if he ever did, THIS is the song I can picture him singing. So much emotion in it! Great job Jeremey!!

Does anyone else tell you about that strong vibrato? It really is over the top on some of your phrasing. Especially in this dry mix, it really stands out. It's not so much the speed, it's the depth of it. Very strong. And be careful in your lower register, you get that "Cher" vibe going once in a while.

Anyway, I don't really get any other comments about vibrato other than from you...I'm sure that many people may feel the way you do, but it's never really been brought up. It's actually a natural vibrato that is nearly impossible for me to control. It is stronger in my lower register, and this track is actually too low for me. I could go up another couple of steps ans still easily hit the B on the money note at the end (I think right now it's a G...I normally warm up to about an E over a tenor high C). Unfortunately, it's a karaoke track (no, I don't keep an orchestra in my basement! )......I pitch shifted the instrumental track up by a whole step, but shifting it any more than that would add a real flange to the track & it would sound very odd. In my natural voice I would NEVER sing in that low a register unless it was an opera arrangement, in which case the vibrato is a lot more acceptable.

Anyway, probably more than you wanted to know, but I appreciate the listen!

Finally got around to listening to this. That was cool to hear your lower register Jeremey. The vibrato fits the song to my ears. Not out of place at all. I'd love to hear you layer yourself a bunch of times during the chorus for that big, choiral sound this song often has.

That was beautiful, Jeremey. I love traditional Christmas carols and them being sung in that sense. One of the very best parts of Christmas is the music attached to it and I enjoy singing them as well. I'm going to my Uncles church next weekend so I can hear my Aunt sing and play the organ.....she plays a beautiful, huge pipe organ thats in the front of the church...one that has pipes that go clear to the ceiling like 2 stories or more tall.. with tons of foot pedals, switches and knobs...I don't know how she does it...she's in her 70's now but she still plays it every week, directs the choir and still teaches piano and she can still sing like a bird. Again..well done..O Holy Night is one of my favorites....I would love to hear you sing What Child Is This too.
