Do you consider Coopers a good Australian Beer? I know how you feel about Fosters so we won't go there. It's a bit expensive for a sixpack so I want to get an idea if it's decent.

Asking if Coopers is a good beer is like asking if the ocean is wet. Not that I'm biased or anything!
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Sure....but I don't drink it... Cascade for me. And Fosters sucks. We export it so we don't have to drink it ourselves.

Cascade is probably the one Australian beer I'd take over Coopers. Possibly James Squires.

You do know Fosters runs its beer through a horse first, don't you? ;)

going from Michigan to Oklahoma is like taking the dixie highway, thinking you were headed to Flordia, but taking a left when you should have taken a right and ending up in NORMAN, OK... WTF.

The Bevmo near me stopped bringing in Cascade for some reason so It's either Coopers or James Boags Lager, so I'm limited at the moment.

Guinness is still my regular drink though.

Ask if they can get you JB Honey Porter - you'll die it's so good!

I remember drinking some local beer I wasn't impressed with when I was in Alice Springs, but I have no idea what it was. Does each place have it's own house beer?

Pretty much. Victorian beer is all modelled on the Fosters line though (there is worse than Fosters, it's called VB - Victoria Bitter) Some is good, some is bad, some is average and some is fucking awesome!

Tasmania and South Australia have quite a lot of decent small breweries, with Tassie taking the edge because of the cooler climate.
