Farewell to one recording project...

Postby G.I.Jim » Thu Dec 11, 2008 1:14 pm

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let those of you who are interested know that one project I worked on a couple of years ago has finally been put to rest today! I can now talk about this one since it no longer exists...

I was approached by Paul Logue (Eden's Curse among many other projects) a couple of years ago about working on a project of his. He and I were joined by Jay Parmar (Lead guitarist). We originally had Dougie White (Cornerstone, Malmsteen Etc..) on vocals, but although I LOVE his vocals...they just didn't seem to fit what we were doing. Dougie's management didn't want him to commit (as he's already in so many other projects), so we went in a different direction.

We recruited Andreas Novak (Mind's Eye among several other projects) to fill the lead vocalist slot. I think he did a great job on our tunes. We finished 5 of Paul's tunes as well as one of my own and started shopping around to the labels, but there was no interest in the project. I had really high hopes for that one, but that's just how it works. Paul ended up using two of those songs for the follow-up Eden's Curse album, and I think they turned out AWESOME!

We're going to all stay in touch, and may reunite at a later date, but for now...it's back to my own original project! One of the songs we demo'd for the project was my song "I'm Not Ready". Now that we're done...I'm using the song in my own project and will re-record the guitars and vocals soon. If you'd like to check the current version out in it's entirety, go to www.myspace.com/jimrykbost .I had to really shrink the song files down, so it's lost some of it's oomph, but I hope you like it!

I'll be really picking up the pace on my solo project right after the holidays, and will finally be able to announce my guitarist in a couple of weeks! :D Hope you enjoy it, and thanks so much for all the support and friendship in here!!!

Thank you! I was sad to see it fade out without a chance, but oh well...I'm really excited about my own project, and even if the labels aren't interested...I'm still recording that damn cd! I'll foot the bill myself if I have to. I just want to throw down some cool tunes. I've never really been in this for the money, and just love it!
