OT: Billy Joel

Postby LaDoDa » Thu Dec 11, 2008 1:21 pm

Fucking rocks.

He is a lyrical and melodic genius. End of story.

"And we were sharp. As sharp as knives. And we were so gung-ho to lay down our lives
We came in spastic. Like tameless horses.
We left in plastic... as numbered corpses."

I will beat anyone down with a Bussom-buddies cum-rag if you don't agree with me.

He is awesome, but not quite as good as Brucey, lyrically or musically. Those two played together last month. Billy sang Born to Run and BS sang Piano Man.

Billy Joel is hitting the road with Elton John. Talk about hits. Jesus Christ, what do those two have, close to a hundred or so?

Haha, I can see Friga swinging away in his pretty pink panties, and Tito taking polaroids of him doing that. You and I would be drunk, and my new buddy, who I don't even know his name, would be singing Allentown.

I have loved Elton since 1970. We got to 1st see him in the 70's. This was in the days of festival seating. I went to the lower seats in order to watch his hands. Then the place started to stink. I said "Who is burning rope?" My brother in law armed me in the ribs and said"its marijuana" you idiot". I also love Billy Joel ,but I think Elton's percussion is excellent. They are coming to Cincinnati, but so is Louisville,Dayton, Indy, Columbus. The low ticket is 55.00 and top 180.00.

Well worth it. Even though modern day EJ sucks, his classics are as good as anyone's. 180 for a top ticket. I would go. These are two of the best piano/singer/songwriters ever, and sorry Tito, Mr. Cain is not on this level.

Billy over Bruce anyday......

one of my faves.....

youtube is doing maintenence....I'll post in a bit. fuckers.

In the meantime:

Summer Highland Falls

They say that these are not the best of times
But they're the only times I've ever known
And I believe there is a time for meditation
In cathedrals of our own
Now I have seen that sad surrender in my lovers' eyes
I can only stand apart and sympathize
For we are always what our situations hand us
It's either sadness or euphoria

And so we'll argue and we'll compromise
And realize that nothing's ever changed
For all our mutual experience
Our separate conclusions are the same
Now we are forced to recognize our inhumanity
A reason coexists with our insanity
And so we choose between reality and madness
It's either sadness or euphoria

How thoughtlessly we dissipate our energies
Perhaps we don't fulfill each other's fantasies
So we stand upon the ledges of our lives
With our respective similarities
It's either sadness or euphoria
Tom Brady IS the G.O.A.T.
