I was shocked to Zeppelin has a new CD out. It was number 8 I believe, called Mothership. It can be found in the Top Ten Tours thread on the Billboard charts link.

Fuck it, I found it:

I wonder if it is a GH cd or new stuff or what?

That guy would be perfect. It's hard to believe it's not Plant. Hopefully Page or Bonham will pull a Neal Schon and hire this guy.

Holy crap.
Good job.

From an interview with the vocalist in question, James (October 19th 2008)

Q: Have any of the members of Led Zeppelin contacted you?

A: People have been asking me if I am the "American singer" who will be touring with Led Zeppelin in 2009.
I went to Robert Plant's official Web site and Robert Plant says the whole thing is a bunch of rumors regarding
the "American singer" and plans to tour. If anyone else in Virtual Zeppelin has been contacted by the members
of Led Zeppelin, they have not told me about it.

That guy sounds good, but there is another. He is in a Zep tribute band, has the hair of Plant and it took me a minute to see it was not him. That should be the guy. He is really good plus the mannerisms and the sound.

Back in the day, Jack Russell of Great White was a dead ringer for Plant, possibly even better than this guy from Virtual Zeppelin.

One of the best Zeppelin songs for my money and not an easy one to pull off, lots of layers and they nail it.

I don't quite understand why some people want a "dead ringer" or "sounds exactly like" frontmen to replace the originals? :? I would rather see somebody that adds a little of their own thing to it. I think Chris Robinson (Black Crowes) does a great job without sounding exactly like Plant.

Robinson is spectacular. Not a dead ringer vocally (good thing), but has a great feel for the songs and the era they were written in. Check some of the youtubes from the Jimmy Page w/ Black Crowes tour. 8)

Here is just one:
