New Departure Video- Perry and Schon Duet!!!

Postby peridactyl » Tue Dec 16, 2008 4:49 am

I'm always trolling Youtube for videos of the guys cuz I know people have tons of bootlegs and stuff in private libraries...

Anyway, here's a cool video of Steve and Neal during the Departure tour (posted 12/13/08.).

Neal's not half bad. Wonder why he didn't sing more often....

Great vid. Watch out, some people will rake you over the coals here for suggesting Neal can sing. Guy's got a great voice.

I've seen this before. I think it's an amazing song with them sharing vocals, and that was a great performance by the whole band.

Yea! Many around here will flame you for a statement like that. So Neal is no Steve Perry vocally, who is? I dig Neal's voice and think is a just fine for rock music.

Yeah, I love it when I find a video I've not seen before, and this one was new to me. I wonder if there's an online library of Journey videos where bootlegs and tapes can be uploaded and compiled, like a history of the group (performances and interviews ) ?
That would be so cool....

Here's People & Places from another show. This song cannot be easy to pull off live. Neal sounds great on it.

Not to stomp on your enthusiasm, but I wouldn't say he's got a great voice. Decent, yes, but not great.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Much better clip than I have. I always heard this was Rolie's last show with the band. Absolutely one of my favorites.

I had the whole show at one time but lost it. I made several clips other than this one that are on Youtube, but that's all that's left of what I had.

Great video, great song. I love it that they are so comfortable together on stage. I'm really tired so you will have to cut me some slack, but one of the reasons I love this video is that I had a pr of bibs just like the ones Neal had on. And in this video Steve had on the white Nikes with the red swoosh and I had a pr of those too. I used to think that was so cool...And the famous green pants are the clincher...love those green pants.....I'm done rambling now. lol

ps Did I mention the green pants?

Thanks for the link - I'd never seen this and those two are magic together. I wonder what they would sound like
if they performed not as Journey, but just as a duo? Anyway, I think Neal sounds great too. I just got 'Late Nite' in the
mail and I'm hearing it for the first time - amazing!

Not great, not decent, but good

Seriously, if I could play guitar like him I'd take being able to "just" sing that well...
