Classical Gas Mason Williams vs Glen Campbell

I know this goes back to the 70's. I would just like the opinion of the musicians or music lovers as to their abilities. Both are on YouTube.

Um, this isn't so much comparing apples to oranges, but apple strudel vs duck a l'orange... or Apple Macs to an orange t-shirt.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I like Glen's music. I'll leave the personal stuff out of the equation. There are quite a few fan favorites who have raised their hand to their spouse, they've just kept it out of the public eye. I do see where you're coming from.

I am not a Glen fan and I know abt his history and problems .I just wanted to compare their abilities and I know even less abt Mason Williams, except from the Smothers Brothers Show in the '70's & I just hoped musicians would give an opintion.

ok.

i am a musician.

leave off the other comments, if you must. he no where near plays on the level of Mason Williams. musically speaking, GP plays guitar, as in he knows how, but he is no guitar player. I had this critque of his playing before the personal stuff became public, btw.

sorry to take off. stevew2's avvie has been eating at me for a few days.

Being in Arkansas, of course I love Glen Campbell. But in the past few years I realized that what I really liked was Jimmy Webb's writing.

Glen Campbell was a Beach Boy for a while. I think during Brian Wilson's original mental breakdown. I am a huge GC fan, wifebeating, drunken driving, etc. notwithstanding.

If we only like the artists who had no skeletons in their closets it would be a short list. Perry, Soto Both seem like nice guys but if something came out bad from their past, would their fans slag on them like Glen or say leave them alone as it's their own private business? I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, just asking a question.
