Day 1 practice: We'll start out by pushing chairs around the ice. By the end of the day you'll be blocking slapshots with your teeth. Unlike other athletes, hockey players are resilient, and you'll bounce right back for day II. (You women players without teeth will be more appreciated by your husbands in the bedroom anyways.) Deb, you can sing O' Canada and serve orange slices in between periods.

When we took our team into Canada (anywhere between Montreal and Kingston, Ont.) the opposing teams frisky mom's usually brought orange slices into our dressing room between periods for the kids. Just a hospitality thing, I guess. Although in retrospect, I think they were were just trying to get close to us to check us coaches out.
