That's lovely.....now get stuffed! I had a very profitable business day booked, which is now shifted to Sunday, and we are supposed to get a 3rd storm then. Ontario, Canada, (where we live in igloos) is getting slammed. Here is link for some of you warm weather folks. Just click on a camera and it will show you the weather there.

You do miss snow when you dont have it. I used to hate it when I grew up in Minnesota, now that I live in a place that gets about a inch a year , I miss it. Im sure someday when Im back in Minneapolis, I 'll hate the stuff.

YUP!
This is my thought. I'm near Seattle and we got about 4" (that's what she said!)- and the local news makes it out to be this hysterical drama of which we all may not live to see another day. I'm SO sick of the news blowing shit so far out of proportion. We got snow. We got ice. Drive carefully. If you don't have to drive, hang out at home. But to just roll the same footage of the one idiot that can't drive in it and making it like EVERYONE is that brain dead... ugh...

Also, not sure how it is around the country (or the world I guess), but WHY is everything now referred to as "A Storm"? If there's a weather system, no matter how severe, Seattle weather people call it a friggin' "Storm". Knock it off! While you're at it, why don't you wait to put up the "SNOW DEATH 2008" graphic behind you until there actually IS a storm??

They closed the Seattle schools the other day because the forecast called for snow. Funny, didn't snow in the Seattle districts that day at all. IDIOTS.

It's just snow. Personally, I like it. Breaks the monotony of Seattle rain.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I've only been in snow once and that was in Michigan back in 2002. I think I was wearing all the warm clothes I had in my closed, It was frigid..

WHAT about those of us who lived 23 years of our lives in an area where snow is a frickin rarity? One or two storms per winter maybe... so by default we're excited to see it and have no idea what it's really like living in snow climate until we up and move to Chicago? What about those people? I was super-gay-excited about snow. Here came the first storm... oh, pretty yay! Second one... "I gotta clean my car off before work, fuck I'm already running late!" Third storm, are you serious? I haven't seen grass since November! Fourth storm, ok, I submit. This stuff is a pain in the ass. And it's not even technically winter yet. :(

I still love looking at it, as long as it's off the roads. Don't punch me in the face over it.

Just don't run around telling me cold weather and snow is the best thing to ever happen to me :P

It makes my car dirty, hard to get going, dangerous to drive
Makes the tendinitis in my knee flare up
Fucks my guitars up
Fucks with my immune system

Its bullshit drama. Fuck the news.

It normally takes me 30 minutes to get to work - today it took 45 because the roads are horrible and I needed to drop it down to 30 to 40 mph. No big deal.

The news LOVES to run in drama queen mode the minute a snowflake falls. Yes, its very bad out there, but seriously, its the midwest - its not like its the first or worst storm we've had. You just dig your car out, accept the fact that you are probably going to need to leave early or might be late to work, slow your stupid ass down, pop in a CD, relax and watch the road. Freaking out doesn't help a damn thing.

I take it the CD in question will NOT be Disc 2 of Revelation?

I prefer to be linked to Patrick Bateman:

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

I work 3 miles from home, and yet here I am at home because my daughter doesn't have school. I would not have wanted her (or the other kids) out there before 9am this morning driving around in the bus, walking to the bus stop, or walking to school. I think the big issue is that the school busses can't get down the unplowed residential streets. My husband shoveled part of the driveway this morning, and I need to finish it after work so I can get my car out of the garage. Even though the media goes overboard, it's still a PITA.

Go fork yourself. I had my South Carolina winter last year and it stayed frigging cold for weeks in Jan/Feb. But I also was working nights too, so no wonder... right?

We had snow here in Baton Rouge last Thursday - pretty rare - and it even stuck around for a few days...

It was very pretty, and fun to play in with my daughter, but I'm glad it's not common... ;)
