It was only corny to us. None of the casual fans had heard it because nobody bought Generations. It was included in the concert ticket prices and was distributed to the concert goers, but how many people is that?
It's a great song that deserves to be heard, and that would have never happened leaving it on Generations. My opinion anyway.

You don't think it should have been put on Disc two? It's a great song but I don't want them to diminish Augeri's contributions to the band by passing it off as an original.
Either way it put the record over the 50% mark as far as previously released material which made Revelation ineligible for a Grammy nod in the Rock Album category, since they were covering themselves and not a different artist ( not that it would have got nominated anyway but you never know).

I would suspect that the cost of certification is shouldered by the band....maybe Journey's having a hard time paying it's bills right now!It wouldn't be the first time!
Either that, or Neal Schon blew the money reserved for the attestation on hoes...
It's still pretty fucking sad that this band got to what is considered platinum on essentially 3/5 of a one full CD. (considering the fact that The other CD of shittily recorded retreads on Friga's garage 8 track and 2/5 of the "new" CD is old, stolen or redone material). Once you remove the 3-4 redone songs on the new CD, you've got a cheap-ass platinum 'certification' on 6 songs....of which 2 should have never fucking been recorded, they're that fucking bad....

No shit, i agree,so does glennRockindeano wrote:Folks, give it up already. Revelations is not going platinum, and if you need all these other gadget sales(MP3 players and all that bullshit), plus the voodoo math that 3 discs equal one; then you are dreaming. The album is not hat great.
Make a record that is worthy, then the critics that be will listen if it is worthy. This CD is not worthy, period.

Jeremey wrote:It's $400 for the audit process. Not a big deal. Regarding the other situation RE 3/5ths of a CD....To counter your point, think about all the platinum albums over the past several years that have gone platinum on the strength of only one or two singles. No one makes an album for an album's sake anymore. I don't think Journey had half the filler on Revelation that most other acts do these days, at least not intentionally.
