Arnel plugged 2009 concerts (with Lani Misalucha) before the duet, viz.:
  • Jan. 30 - Anaheim
  • Jan. 31 - San Jose
  • Feb. 01 - San Diego
  • Feb. 06 - Chicago
  • Feb. 08 - New Jersey
"...under Music Management International...and you can call 6616700898," as he put it.

Here's Lani, BTW (she appears at 2:23): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KPvkiFmVik

Very Nice. AP does sound great.

I like AP's look. It's become part of his signature. Those clothes are probably worth more than slacks & jackets.

Now I'd just like to hear him singing with Journey and promoting Revelation.

I'm glad he's making such a name for himself in PI, but there's a much bigger world out there. It does seem at times he's more interested in making a name for himself in his home country and forgetting about the rest of the band. Isn't there a name for that? :?

I'm not sure that anyone has a more powerful voice than Charice.

hmmmmm...this girl definitly can sing!!..but i don't know..i don't like this kind of voice in womens...i prefer Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks and others...get more to me that kind of voices..because Celine Dion, Maryah and others..seem so the same to me...and sometimes annoy me a little... of course this is a subjective oppinion, because i can tell she have an amazing vocal register

Yup, Arnel's voice is more suitable on that song and Charice is good in Celine and Whitney Houston songs.

I'm sorry, but I've gotta burst the bubble here. Twice, Arnel tried to sing Charice's part, and every time Charice would sing the upper harmonies...she was flat! :? The music sounded like a mix between elevator music, and Karaoke. While both are obviously talented singers, I'm not a fan of this shit. Go write (or pay someone else to write FOR you) some good ORIGINAL songs, and put that out there. I'm getting tired of all this Karaoke bullshit!!! :x

Do fan messageboards of other bands get clogged up with endless threads about cover versions? Or is this unique to Journey?

We need a karaoke forum, right below the Eric Martin and Kip Winger forums.

Watch it!  I know a lot of people think he's cheesy as hell, but I think he's one of the most talented musicians/singers out there. Dude plays guitar, bass, keys and is a hell of a singer. IMHO!

All I can say is Arnel's site posted today a recent appearance on ABS-CBN somewhere. The first song was a Tagalog song. He sounded really great. But the second song he sang was Faithfully and his voice was unbelievable. His voice was the best it's sounded since the tour. It reminded me of how good he really was in concert.

Not at all. My post 2 posts ago was making fun of the perception of Kip Winger as a poser. I know the dude has talent. Doesn't mean his forum gets to go above the karaoke forum!!! Especially after taking that thong picture the women around here are always posting. :x

Former members of Journey get and will get shit loads of pages in this forum when they buy new shoes or go to a public toilet and you two are complaining about a couple of threads for a *current member* of Journey actually singing? Do bear in mind that we are part of this community whether you like it or not. Thanks Aliaslen. I should have posted it. I don't know what he's singing in that Tagalog song, but I'm lovin' his voice. I was worried about his voice since the end of the tour, but no need to worry, because in this performance his vocals were amazing.

You guys can post whatever you like. We can also dog on it if we like. Those former members were responsible for over 50 million album and selling out football stadiums with crowds up to 100,000. But most importantly, they contributed to the song writing and creating melodies of the songs that would make Journey famous. We've been with this band and bought their product for over 25 years. We'll say what we want.
If you want to show some teenager from the province singing someone elses hits, go for it. No one's stopping you, so don't worry if we criticize it. Fair is fair.
In all honesty, most of us are just taking the piss, when making half of these posts anyway.
Oh, and we're not going anywhere either, so relax and enjoy. :D
