The Frontiers total is insane...and most of the others are just inaccurate. Infinity, Evolution and Departure average out at not much over 3 million copies each, I think. The much-vaunted golden age of Herbie Herbert's management....
This is worldwide, man-milk lover. Frontiers was absolutely HUGE in Asia.

First time I've heard these figures and I have to say they sound most dodgy...

By the way, where's your imaginary friend Saint John?

You are saying Escape wasn't huge in Asia? Hell, Departure was huge in Asia? I fail to see or understand how Escape outsells Frontiers by 30% or so in America, yet the world sees it differently and puts Frontiers over Escape by 40%? Not saying you are making this up, just questioning the list. And Greatest Hits is at 13 million in your list but that record has sold more than 15 million in the USA alone? Something is fuckered up here.

lol...who? Tito? If that's who you're referring to there are plenty of people here that have met him. At least 10 or 20.

So now that your annual bukkake sabbatical is over I take it you'll be posting for a few months?

You've got to love Saint John. He spends all day at work on an internet messageboard lecturing rock stars about their lack of a work ethic. And at night he comes up with ever more inventive scenarios about gay sex instead of going out and finding himself a girlfriend.

I'm pleased to hear your friend is real though. :)

Really?
Worldwide sales (Obviously the TBF sales have been updated...or is that what it really sold? I never bought that Platinum bullshit for that album. No one bought it.

Yeah...Hysteria by Def Leppard and Slippery When Wet from Bon Jovi hardly sold at all.

Rockindeano wrote: I would not say Perry drove the band into the ground either.
Of course you wouldn't..."Perry's piss boys" (Joepa term  ) would take you off the Christmas card list.

Rockindeano wrote:ROR did manage to go double platinum(legitimately by the way), and even TBF went platinum(also with no fuzzy math). Then poof! Perry leaves, and what does Journey do? They go on a selling rampage, moving a little over a 100K units of Arrival, about 431 Generations discs and now the Revelations crap. I think I more than proved my point here.
I don't think you have at all!!! Frontiers, with Herbie at the helm, moves 32 million worldwide and Perry squeezes 3 out of ROR. The grunge thing you tried arguing was way after that. Nirvana didn't hit mainstream until about 1991.

If these numbers are even partially correct, the core members of this band should be millionaires, even without their writing royalties. As far as alimony payments, look at Phil Collins. He has paid out over 50 million in alimony and is still loaded. Neal and John should just end this now. You got a decent record out, call it good and say goodnight. No way their next release tops Revelation in sales. Even if the songs are better, you'll be missing all the crutches (3 cds, including the retard disc, half price, poorboy story and Heart as a touring partner). Go out with some dignity for heaven's sake.

My annual review was through the roof. I won't apologize for being able to multi-task. Kinda like you being able to get your poop pushed and play tonsil tennis at the same time. There's another gay sex reference for ya, Mattie.

 Yes - and another night goes by and the ladies of Chicago remain unaware of your charms. By the way...who do you work for? Your mum?

It's mom not mum bro. :)

I searched the entire Net for worldwide sales and found only 1 list, and Journey isn't even on it, so that can't be valid.

LOL, what an outstanding thread.

Going from Revelations sales numbers, or lack therof, to Perry v Faga/Schon, to control of the band, to Frontiers not selling 32 million units, to bukkake, to Dan not having a cock socket to visit, to Matthew having balls on his chin and naked dudes in his avatar. Awesome.

lol...what he did to that band from 1984 to 1998 suggests anything but respect. Ask Smith, Valory, Herbert, Chalfant or Rolie. I think every single ex-member in Journey, and Herbie, fucking hates his ass. Coincidence?

If nothing else, we can agree that he had a phenominal voice and co-wrote songs that are proving to be timeless. The dude thinks he gave the band the best years of his life and I can't argue with that. His oversight of the Houston '81 DVD gave every Journey fan something they'd been wanting for years. He delivered in spades. If it's not enough for some, then screw 'em!!

Herbie Herbert said that Perry has gone to all of the greatest vocal coaches there are, but it's just not there anymore. I see no reason for him to make that up.

I have never wavered from my belief that Steve Perry is the greatest voice I've ever heard (from 1981-83...and even still in 1986 at times).

Hey, man, I'm saying that to me they were. I refrain from using the stupid fucking IMO and IMHO shit. It's obviously my opinion. And no, I don't think it's outlandish at all. That period saw some of the greatest technical work musically and vocally ever. Couple that with them being, all things considered, the greatest live act ever, and yeah, I think they were the greatest band over any 3 year period. You fuckers blast me when I blast Perry and blast me when I pay him the ultimate respect. I think I'll go outside and lick a fucking light pole while it's still -4. :?
