Hey, man, I'm saying that to me they were. I refrain from using the stupid fucking IMO and IMHO shit. It's obviously my opinion. And no, I don't think it's outlandish at all. That period saw some of the greatest technical work musically and vocally ever. Couple that with them being, all things considered, the greatest live act ever, and yeah, I think they were the greatest band over any 3 year period. You fuckers blast me when I blast Perry and blast me when I pay him the ultimate respect. I think I'll go outside and lick a fucking light pole while it's still -4. :?

Not blasting you, but dude, greatest band ever? They were great, but not even top ten. I admire your passion though.

Fair enough. But let me ask you this...who would you rather see other than Journey during the Escape and/or Frontiers days? I can't think of anyone I'd take over them. And don't worry...I'll respect your opinion...even if it's stupid.  :P

I saw Escape and Frontiers. LOVED them both. Also saw Queen in 81 and Born in the USA tour in 1984, which was unquestionably, the biggest tour of the last 25 years. That was my favorite, but I did like the Frontiers tour over the Escape tour, because of the obvious new material. But as good as Journey was live, it really doesn't compare live to a Springsteen show, in all seriousness, he is that good of a frontman. I hope CP doesn't read this, but I would say he is best ever along with Mick. I sure wouldn't mind seeing ACDC or VH during those years either. They were huge.

Well to me there is no comparison between Perry and Springsteen. Perry is a far better singer in every facet other than longevity. And musically I hear nothing remotely as good as Schon or Smith on guitar and drums. And you should be more worried about CP seeing this ridiculous statement from when Soto was in the band

Dan, you can't even argue this because you will never even listen. The E Street band is so much better, in every way. Seriously, but you won't open your mind up. If I may use your own logic and argument apparatus: "Ticket sales as well as album sales mean something." You used that argument against Soto. Well I can use these against you here. There is a reason Bruce sold 30 million more records, sells out tour dates every year without an opening act, and oh yeah, plays the fucking Super Bowl. I would say take a look at the halftime show, but I know you won't bother to. It's all good, and I want you to know I am not bashing Journey. Just saying that Springsteen is that much better in every facet of the game, especially in a live setting.

Untrue - the subject of women who stand up to pee has not yet been discussed. A trick I never mastered, but often wish I had back in my clubbing days when the queues to the ladies toilets were a mile long and the girls who went into the gents and used the urinals were a source of envy.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Worldwide sales (Obviously the TBF sales have been updated...or is that what it really sold? I never bought that Platinum bullshit for that album. No one bought it.
Frontiers: 32.4 million
Escape: 19.8 million
Greatest Hits: 13.0 million
Infinity: 7.2 million
Evolution: 6.6 million
Departure: 6.3 miilion
Raised On Radio: 3.0 million
Trial By Fire: 500,000

These numbers are NOT correct Dan. For fucks sake, the LAST thing you should be doing here is trying to support your argument with invented bullshit. Holy fuck!!!!!

The highest RIAA certification that Frontiers has is 6x plantinum, meaning 6 million copies. While that certification is about 11 years old, I HIGHLY doubt it's sold enough copies to reach 7 million, as almost all REPUTABLE sites put frontiers sales in between 6 and 7 million.

The ONLY Journey record certified at DIAMOND, which is 10X platinum, is the Greatest hits, at 15 million copies sold.

Last count Escape was certified 9x platinum at 9 million...

Infinity was certified 3x platinum....So was departure and evolution.

Raised on Radio got 2x platinum...

TBF is at 1x platinum....

Revelation was just awarded platinum status on 12/18/2008, 4 days ago.

Assuming we "round down" to each album's certification status...which is a fair thing to do, to remove any cvnt-hair of doubt and play with HARD numbers, here's how things TRULY stand:

Greatest Hits: 15 million
Escape: 9 million
Frontiers: 6 million
Departure: 3 million
Infinity: 3 million
Evolution: 3 million
Captured: 2 million (although this has to be fishy, as I recall this was a double album, but sold as a single CD)
ROR: 2 million
TBF: 1 million
Revelation: 1 million (but we all know that they really sold, as per this certification, only 500k copies)

So take that 32 million for frontiers, 19 million for Escape, 13 million for Greatest Hits....and all of your other highly inflated numbers....and really....shove them up your ass. (or anywhere else you might enjoy it! ;) )

If you want to cite true numbers to make a point, do yourself the favor of researching them before trying to make a point with them. This sorta thing goes for anyone here!!

Terrific! So it's officially RIAA certified then? :) And for the record, I don't care how they did it, that's still quite an achievement for a band that's changed lead singers 3 times in the past decade!

I wonder if AC/DC's Black Ice has gone Platinum yet?
