You sir, are one witty bastard, and I love you for it. That made me laugh out loud...hard...

Agreed. Very funny.

Thanks, guys. Didn't see this until now.

No, the asshole that threw the shoe. I hope he gets executed.

Has anyone told you that you're a charmer? If so, they lied!

You Americans certainly have a way of endearing yourself to the rest of humanity. It's a mystery to me why anyone would want to throw a shoe at GWB.

You Americans........as in your not one.......apparently. You Americans is a slur to our country, as in all of us. Not that I agree with all the policies of this or other Presidents before him, but don't give a blanket insult like that. I have respect for most people everywhere. But I never say You___________(fill in the name of your country here) as if all of you were worthless.

So Hero. What nationality are you? Is everyone in your country a shining exact replica of your government? Maybe before you slur US Americans, you will see in our country we have the right to agree or disagree with our governing parties. Thus the policies of said government can be openly disagreed with. I am proud to be an American. But I do not always agree with decisions that are made.
Please show respect, as you would want showed to you.

Hero actually has a point here. Americans, a vast bunch of them, are in fact ignorant, arrogant and selfish, not to mention close minded. I would wager that most Americans either don't know what is happening outside its borders or don't care. That to me, is ignorant, arrogant and flat out stupid. America is not the world. The world deserves respect too, not just America. Does Bush deserve to be disrespected that way on a national platform? No fucking way, but in his 8 years, he sure as fuck didn't show the world or America for that matter an ounce of respect. Fuck him. I wouldn't invite that ruthless lying son of a bitch in my house if he was starved, frozen and begging.

I'd say thats exactly what Hero meant.

Regardless of what he meant, and I have no beef with Hero, he said "YOU Americans", like something you would scrape off your shoe. I being an American, don't like being blanketed all together as though we all think and say everything alike.

I find him to be quite charming at times.....and I agree with his statement!!

Well, if SJ gets his crazy wish and he's executed, we are going to be hated even more over there and really get the fanatics stirred up even more against Americans, or even just the Iraqi citizens we were trying to help there.

I did not agree with hurting the man who threw the shoe. No one was harmed by the shoe, and so no harm should come to him. It was his "protest" to throw the shoe.

I don't see President Bush pushing for the mans to be execution either....

Uh, I was referring to SJ's comment above where he says "I hope he gets executed." And LuvsAugeri said "And I agree with his statement." Maybe I'm missing something.

Yes I understand. That's precisely why I voted for Obama. He will lead America in a light that shows that we are really not that isolationist, that we do respect other nations and that we understand the world needs to get along. The leader is the face of the nation. Why do think the world hates America? George W Bush. Obama is already planning to right that ship, by closing Guatanamo Bay, and ending waterboarding as a form of toture, something our illustrious Vice President insists is just fine and dandy. leave it to a scumbag who received 5 deferments to get out of serving, to tell us what is and what is not torture.

Remember one common thought: America's greatest strengths are it's allies. That sentence carries a lot of different thoughts and meaning. It says we are the beacon of light for every lost nation, the hope for down and out states, and the leader of the world by unanimous decision. I am not sure this slogan is valid today, as more nations loathe us than love us, and the reason for this is the policy of the Bush Administration. Can't blame the Democrats for this one. The Administration lays policy, and this sorry-assed approach to the world has injured us badly. You watch Obama's first month in office. After Stephen Harper visits(Canadian PM is always the first head of state to visit), Obama, or more likely Hillary, will go on a world tour to attempt to mend fences and ensure other nations of our good will intent to make things right again. Cowboy diplomacy is out and good riddens already.

I hate to break it to you Rockindeano, we were hated long before Bush. I hope the best for our new president. I hope he makes good decisions. The only problem I had was having ALL Americans insulted because he disagreed with one. Same stupidity that makes people say they hate Iranians. I have a friend who is Iranian, and she wants peace for all nations. She is sweet as the day is long. I do not agree with the policies of her Government. But she is not her Government, and should not be insulted. This is my point.

Dubya's stupid response to the shoe thrower: "So what if he threw a show at me?"

What a damn idiot. This sounds as if he feels guilty for all the lives he has murdered, and it brings him a little relief from his guilt to have someone return fire.

Bush is just an arrogant dumbass who never had any business being elected President. Al Gore received more votes than Bush did, and if the law would have been applied during that election correctly we would have never invaded Iraq and killed hundreds of thousands of their citizens.

What will the Bush legacy be? The worst of any President in the history of the USA.

You need to brush up history. Of course there is always a faction of pirate Somalis and towel headed jockey's who are going to hate us, but take a look around. Australia, UK, Spain, Russia, China, France, Italy, even Canada- these nations don't have our back any more. These states weren't turning on us during Clinton's 8 years or even Bush 41's. They stood by us at every turn. Bush rounded up a shitload of allies for Iraq didn't he? The UK sent a decent amount of soldiers, but now they are packing up and going home, Spain sent a bus load of soldiers and soon said, "fuck this," and Japan provided a laundry ship. Yeah, the world was definitely behind us for that mission. Australia immediately sent help, probably based on our recent history of good will(thanks Bill), and they too soon found out this was a bogus war. Sri Lanka sent 4 police guards. Outstanding number of allies we have huh?

So, artist4perry, "hate it to break it to you," but but we weren't hated before W.

Save your absurd Kumbaya speech for tree huggers and retards, dude. Clinton sat back and coddled every nation in the world and we were repeatedly attacked, saw our embassies blown to bits, our Trade Centers attacked, our soldiers beaten to death and dragged through streets and doing nothing only emboldened our enemies. Our allies are pussies. Fuck them. We're self-sufficient. Seal the borders and clean house from within. Say what you want about President Bush, but he has seemingly disabled Al Quaida and they're now less of a threat than the fucking Latin Kings. You dumocrats just don't get it. We're always going to be hated. This is a several THOUSAND year hatred against us in the name of religion and it will NEVER change until you kill these fuckers off. Clinton's coddling didn't work either. The aforementioned attacks are there as proof as was the entire planning, coordination, mock plane trips, and funding for 9/11. Bush came on defense with Al Quaida 1st and Goal at the 1.

Yep, and that when Obama took over, gas was $1.45 a gallon, 8 years later it's $2.50. They'll never remember it hitting $4.50 when Mr. Misremember was in office.

I really don't blame 9/11 on anyone. Our freedoms were taken advantage of by a seriously sick and dastardly genius plan. Nothing more. These fucks boarded planes legally with their little box cutters and were able to convince people that the planes would land safely as they did in every other hijacking. The plot was about as intricate as a school yard post pattern. I was simply trying to point out that just as much hatred existed under Clinton as it does Bush. It's just that now our enemies are open and vocal and that's a good thing because people can finally see who they are...radical islamists.

Hannity and Limbaugh were spewing that very line until the National Bureau of Economic Research confirmed the recession began in 2007.
Haven't listened lately, wouldn't surprise me if they still are using it.

I DO blame somebody and I blame him for not reading the fucking security briefs that are delivered to his desk every moring. Dan, I will place blame fairly, and have on Dems as well. The fact of the matter is Bush flat out dropped the ball on 9/11 and then gave away the store with Iraq. It has been an 8 year nightmare. The voters didn't get it right the first time but sure as Hell did the second time.

LOL, and yeah, he had Al Qaidas playbook and bypassed reading it. Dude, you and the Cons are so fucked up. The way you all attempt to put the blame onto Dems. I can tell you that won't ever work on me. I am too involved, too educated on current events and politics to let you do that to me at least. it might work on Proggie or Jana, but not I. In 8 years you will all be saying Obama created the recession of 2008!

We need (what I would call) Criminal profiling but (the libs would call) racial profiling.

Yeah, great idea! Under your plan, just how would you have stopped Timothy McVeigh from committing his act of terrorism? McVeigh was whiter than white. I anxiously await your reply. :)

I don't give a fuck what he did or didn't read. It wasn't going to stop those Dune Coons from legally boarding those planes. They had rehearsed the very same shit many times without incident. Steve Perry could have been the fucking president and we would have still been fucked. Though I'm sure Lukather, Uncle Joe and The Bullhorns would say differently.   :P

In substance I doubt we will see little change from Bush's foreign policy . Obamas going to be ruled by the same realities, will have every bit of desire as Bush did to protect his country, and will like any other President want to see US interest put first especially now that hes in charge.

Now on the other hand.... the press might spin it as a big change......

I can't or don't even know how to respond to this. Good God. With that logic, why even have an FBI, CIA or Secret Service? Why waste monies on the personnel, or the paper the briefings are printed on? Seriously, why? Just close up the country and live happily ever after, right?

Come on Dan, you're smarter than this. Your guy fucked up, period. Just admit it.
