Virtumonde is definitely a total pain in the ass. Self-defending rootkit, usually, and has to be removed manually with a boot disc. You might be able to search around and find a free removal tool for this one specifically.

It's bombarding me with pop-ups every few seconds. I suspected that that was a trojan when I got that "Registry Defender" pop-up, so I did NOT install it. But it's still f-ing up things big time on my computer.
Thanks for the advive! And if you have any more advice please let me know.

I dunno if they're not worth it... I have never gotten a hard-to-fix virus/malware on any of my personal computers (knocking on wood), and have only been phished once, on MySpace. I don't think it's that hard to avoid such things, my problems with Windows are only with Windows features, lol.
Macs can be good for those who are prone to catching these kinds of problems though, I suppose.
Linux anyone? hahaha

That's ugly...but an easy fix if you get it. Just type in "spyware guard remove" and one of those first few sites has a tool to fix it. Something called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
If you get something like that, chances are someone else has also and there is a way to get rid of it. Some easier than others, of course.
