Ok, just a quick blurb about the show -- KILLER! The Mrs. has seen it both times the past couple of years, and this was my first time. I was a bit worried when people told me that front row wasn't really the best place to see the elaborate stage and humongoid lighting display, and that is true... they also told me that you would feel the heat from the flames, and that was also true. But... looking back now, I wouldn't have traded those seats for any others in the venue. They were only a few seats over from dead center, and I was smack dab in front of Big Al Pitrelli -- there was literally NO one sitting closer to that dude than me, and he's as big a cut-up as Ross Valory! I also got to physically absorb the first fruits of all that incredible riffage, lickage, and fret-shreddery that was emanating from his guitars. I'd never seen Al play before, but have been a definite fan of his work in the past, and I was surprised that he didn't use a whammy bar with all those killer bends. The guy is just incredible, and makes it look effortless.

The whole show was incredible, with each musician and vocalist representing the best at what they do -- awe-inspiring, each and every one. It's no secret to those who have seen the show that Jeff Scott Soto was a real highlight, and his solo was one of the best vocal performances I've ever seen. The crowd totally loved it. It also says quite a lot for Jeff that he was the only performer whose top band affiliations were mentioned when Tommy Farese introduced the musicians.

We were lucky and had the pleasure of meeting JSS before the show, and he's just the best... a total class act and treated us first-timers like old friends. Very appreciative of his fans and the support he gets. So thanks, Jeff!

Anyway, here is a small slideshow that includes a few iPhone shots of Jeff's solo and Al Pitrelli from my view:

So funny you mention that -- when they took that girl onstage, I was thinking she reminded me of Mini-Pea. It looked like that guitar was signed by the whole group.

Thanks for the PM's & Pics!

I saw TSO in San Diego & was lucky to see him sing two solos.
Jeff commanded that stage with a stellar presence. Every note & every move was perfection! I was in awe of the amazing talent that he delivered from his whole heart.
I was lucky to meet him at the M&G after the show. Jeff is truly a gracious genuine big-hearted man with a zany sense of humor who tries to make everyone feel special. I was next to the last few on the line so we had a few moments & it was really nice. He stood up & insisted I get a picture with him saying that he has to take care of "his people" & whom am I to argue with that!

Thanks to JSS for sharing his talent giving the world the TSO experience every night working so hard & making it seem so easy.
I am so grateful to our fellow MR'er RIP (Don't think it means Rest in Peace but I haven't the foggiest idea... )
for bringing JSS Christmas Cheer from all of us while he was on the road with his TSO Family. I must say from meeting the entire TSO lineup that I found them all to be warm & gracious so I think JSS is lucky to be on the road with the best people. The entire show is a heart moving experience.

Somehow, Somewhere & Someway I hope that JSS will always be a part of our lives as he is part of our MR family!

RIP Too bad you didn't get to meet all the TSO Family...RIP...you would have enjoyed meeting the entire TSO Familiy.
I was there just for JSS & ready just to pass everyone by to get to him but as I moved down the line I found them to all be very welcoming warm individuals.
One woman asked me if I sang. I still wonder what made her ask me that but I took it as a compliment. Al Petrilli was larger than life reminded me of Al Pachino & could have been an actor. He is such a animated funny guy. I'm afraid I made a less than good impression on Mr Wood. I blirted out that he reminded me of Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones & I think he now hates me...LOL Well he sort of resembled him when he was young. It was supposed to be a compliment...

TSO Houston Report from Crazy Deb & Me:

Awesome, what else needs to be said?

What a production ... rock guitars, orchestra musicians, stellar singers, pyro (Deb said it was a frikkin' bonfire) ... three hours long & they did it twice today.

And the meet & greet ... the whole cast stayed and signed for everyone who wanted to meet them ... had to be several hundred people.

I got my, ah, shirt signed ... thanks, Jeff. Deb got kissed, so she's only washing half her face tonight... :D

After show food at the new House of Blues Houston ... chicas had a great time. Need sleep...

Thanks, Deb. It was great; first time I'd seen TSO ... I had no idea it was such a production. Debbie's headed back to Corpus & I'm already back in Aggieland; short road trip, but a good one.

Thanks, Deb. There r just a few places one can wear a sweater with a feather collar. Hehe. I do believe that being in the building when JSS wows 20,000 people was definitely one of them. Amazing. Yea, I screamed, whistled, cried and stood up . I was toast.

Shadow, the spit has been washed away but the ever so slight whisker burn blissfully remains. He is a sweet friend and has no reservation about showing his love for his fans/friends/chicas.

Thanks Rip. We did have fun. And more fun for me in San Antonio this Friday and Austin on Sunday. Yay. It is up the road from me and I have daughters in both cities. I'll be there!! More later on that.

i've got it covered sis.

and since we manufacture our Texas Firehouse salsas and BBQ sauces in San Antonio, guess which gang of performers is going to be blessed with a special delivery --fresh off the line???? it is going to be a bit more challenging than smuggling it in to the Journey gigs through ILAA but never underestimate chica power when it comes to her soul brothah.
