It's a duet shithead. Jesus Christ, can't Lord Pineda sing a song with somebody else or does that tarnish the gold from his statuesque figure?

Duet: Definition- TWO singers singing a fucking song, not one.

Don't lecture me on labeling you a shithead. You are in fact, a shithead. Some of you fuckers really grind my gears. It's ok to love the singer, as I think he is great, but my God, he isn't the 2nd coming.

I said what I said to you because he is doing a duet in hopes of bringing some publicity to the female singer. If the song was originally designed to be a duet, I think Mr. Perry would have, um, sang it with someone else.

Don't let it bother you wildcat. It's his 'shtick'. It's what he does around here. Some enjoy it, others just tolerate it. Cyber bullies shouldn't get this much attention.

A group of Filipinos I know are singing a bunch of cover tunes at the "Max of Manila" restaurant tonight, across from the Galleria. They're gonna be singing duets, and by special request, perform OPEN ARMS! too. :D I'll only have to pay for dinner to enjoy the show, awesome! I'll post a review after the show.
I KNOW YOU GUYS CAN'T WAIT!

Audrey has run into Deano before. She should know by now it's nothing personal, just Deano's honest opinion. We all like Arnel, (for the most part) but a lot of us don't really care about what he is doing, if he is not writing song for Journey's new album or touring with the band. We're Journey fans, or for some, just fans of Journey's music. We like to analyze and criitcize, that's what makes this forum tick. You need a thicker skin, my dear, no need to avoid anybody, just be ready to present your argument on why your post is relevant or why the other poster is wrong.

What a quote? Dude, Charlie Brown or Elmo have better quotes on their resume`s. "Stop with the poor me" shit card. You lot are a pain in the ass. Arnel this and Arnel that. Yeah, the guy is awesome, we get it. Do we have to know what exit on the fuckin freeway he takes to get to McDonald's? Do you feel the need to tell us how long he slept last night? What I am saying I guess if that is what you need to post to get a rush, well then go for it, but let's get back to the topic of this thread. -Open Arms Duet- It was an conversation about Pineda singing this song with a female, and presumably for the benefit of the female singer to get some pub. Then one of AP's ogling fawners has to gripe and bitch about "why isn't Arnel singing this by himself?"

Fuck me already.[/i]

I HATE hearing this song except listening to Steve Perry and now Arnel, and even then in very small doses. Otherwise, the song gets on my last nerve  . It's not an easy song to sing solo or ESPECIALLY duet. I agree with Audrey, they could have chosen a better song to do together, but it was okay. The only song I can think of that I liked where singers take a song that was originally a solo and sing it as a duet is with Nat King Cole's song, Unforgettable, where Natalie did that with her father's voice. That worked.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

He should definitely be singing AATY rather than OA. Hell, it charted there and they're gonna play there in a few weeks. Great way to move some albums.

He needs to sing every single ballad from Revelation, and include songs that Perry never performed live, WCTNGOF, WYLAW, etc. Journey should really take some chances on this part of the tour. Give the dirty dozen a rest for a few shows. These aren't going to be American crowds demanding Perry era songs. That would be worthy of a DVD.

GB, when has Journey ever taken a chance? Perhaps they did with ROR, going to a poppier sound, a Steve Perry produced sound, and the addition of a sax. I applaud that, but for fucks sake, play some B sides, some deep cuts, something different; you know, keep it fresh, stay relevant. Want to prove you are a good band, a pure live band? Do what Bruce did last year- take requests(via signs). That is awesome. People brought in so many different signs that 110 songs were played! Fuck, that is the mark of a great band. I don't think Journey could do that. I don't think they could pick a sign that said, Winds of March and play it. Ok, too high a vocal? How about City of the Angels? You all think Valory could play those?

He needs to sing every single ballad from Revelation, and include songs that Perry never performed live, WCTNGOF, WYLAW, etc. Journey should really take some chances on this part of the tour. Give the dirty dozen a rest for a few shows. These aren't going to be American crowds demanding Perry era songs. That would be worthy of a DVD.
I love that idea, GB. I'd fly to the P.I. if I was guaranteed that they'd play Positive Touch.  Arnel has mentioned Winds Of March more than once so I'm looking for that one. I think Deen could do a very nice If He Should Break Your Heart if he's still going to do a song or two each show.

I know, they say no more tails but then make their Revelation tour a dedication to Steve Perry tribute show. It makes you wonder if they were really satisfied with the songs they put on Revelation.WYLAW was simply the best Perry song I have seen Arnel do, simply because there is no live Pery version to compare it to. They should play a shitload of TBF just because it's never been done.

I think it is a fair record, but it just proves that the shadow cast up NOMATOville by Mr. Perry is everlasting or so it seems.

I am also not saying, don't play anything Perry did..by all means pay your respects to the legacy but like you said GB, be proud of your recent releases...if they are indeed proud of that shit Arrival, Generations or even Recollections, play the damned material! Maybe my post kind of answered your question huh?

I'm glad they ditched Higher Place. I couldn't stand that song. They shouldn't play anything off of Arrival, Red13, or Generations. Well, maybe Kiss Me Softly. And yes, they need to fire up some TBF tunes. If the Pinoys like ballads that snoozefest of an album is perfect. WYLAW, FIB and IHSBYK should all be sung.
