OT: Let's Hear It For Detroit!

It's finally here. Detroit's chance to make NFL history, by becoming the first ever 0-16 team. Just to give you an idea just how horrible this is, the last NFL team to go winless was Tampa Bay (when it was only a 14 game season) back in the seventies. Tampa at least had an excuse, as it was their first season, as an expansion team. The Lions have been around the NFL since the world was flat. Somehow I feel like Green Bay is going to suck just enough to let Detroit win their one and only game. I personally want to see history and see the DREADFUL Lions finish the job. Here's hoping the Packers remember that they have one more game left to play and ruin all my fun :shock:

The Lions aren't beating the Pack, In Lambeau, in 7 degree weather. The NFL once again makes history with back to back "0's" in the Win/Loss Column.

2007 Patriots: 16-0
2008 Lions: 0-16

A fitting day for me BEING THE PACKER FAN I am would be to see the Packers actually lose to the Lions... in the last second on a field goal...or some crazy play...its been that way in most of their loses this year... and then McCarthy fired... His STAND BY AARON for his starting QB position in Augst after the year Brett gave them last year.... STUPID management decision of the year...except for AIG doing their retreat after getting the bailout... GO LIONS BEAT THE PACK!!

Yep, it looks as though the Lions have not only joined the ranks of these wonderful teams, they have trampled over all of them for top spot!!!
I'm so proud!!!! I don't want to see the Lions
destroy their perfect season, they have earned this position.
I hope the humiliation is enough to warrant many changes, I know it is for us ...............Go Pack!!!! :wink:

The one thing that teams like the Lions, Bengals, Raiders, et. al have proven is that having a high draft pick in the NFL guarantees you absolutely NOTHING! The idiotic Lions will probably just draft another receiver again (which should NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be done in the NFL with a top 5 pick)! As a Republican I have always maintained that the team that wins the championship should get the #1 pick!!! My friends think I'm nuts. I just hate seeing success punished, and Detroit has more than proven that shitty organizations just waste them anyway!!! The Pats got Brady in what...round 4 or 5? :wink:

6th, I think. I've had to settle for the reruns this year, so I just saw the 2000 Orange Bowl rerun where he led Michigan over Alabama.

New England is still one of the best teams in the NFL. Arizona, who they beat like a drum last week, gets in, but they don't. Something just isn't right about that.

Belichick's finest coaching job. Losing Tom Brady, Lawrence Maroney and Rodney Harrison would devastate any other team, but it just made the Pats an 11-5 team. Remarkable. Think of the Colts without Manning, James and Bob Sanders or the Chargers without Rivers and Tomlinson...hell, the Chargers are average with them.

Good points, Rick, but remember that Matt Cassel never started at USC so the last time he started a football game prior to this year was high school!!! :shock:

And he didn't get the main reps in pre-season either. He was literally handed the job in the opening minutes of game 1. belichick and his staff did a remarkable job of turning him into a very good QB. Dude might be a stud elsewhere. And even though Manning was hurt, he's still Peyton Manning and the team feeds off of his experience.
