What a smuck of a man..having the guts to say something like that without thinking about the loss of many young American lives and others.
No wonder this great American nation is in its worst deepest conundrum right now.
He should at least shut his mouth and not anymore hurt those who are already hurting. He should at least let the wounds heal and not pick on the fresh scar of this debacle.
Many of the great achievements of the worldweer accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working.

W. is a fucking MORON and proves it time and again every time he opens his pie hole. I can honestly say that he's the first president of my lifetime (since I've been aware of who the president was) who I have ZERO respect for. He's a complete embarrassment to our country and a huge reason that we are hated so much around the world. Even though we've had presidents whose politics I didn't agree with, I at least respected them. W. makes it impossible to garner any respect. Thankfully, we only have about another 3 weeks of this dope and then Texas gets to take him back where he belongs!

The big mystery to me is why was he reelected. I think the people that voted for him the second time are fucking retards.

:D :D . That would make my Republican relatives happy in Texas. Even they don't want him back  . Though, I'm sure all will be forgiven down the road and there will be a big lovefest in Texas for him eventually.

I did too, BJG. I fell asleep thinking Kerry had won and woke up at four with the TV still on and Bush had won. I was in a state of depression for several weeks.

No mystery at all.

Karl Rove. Karl Rove scared midwest and southeast soccer moms into the terror threat bullshit. Game over right there. Also the slandering of a Vietnam Vet by "Swiftboaters for Trurh" was damaging. Only Rove and W, a guy who snorted lines of blow to get out of going to combat, smear a guy who actually volunteered and did go to war.

They didn't. Al Gore received a million + more votes than Bush. The US Supreme Court elected George W Bush.

Pretty sure that's an over simplification of things. People are more like lemmings than they want to believe. I'll leave it at that...and while it's a typo...what exactly is "trurh" anyway?

Yes I know, Gore actually won that election. I was being sarcastic about why the ones that did vote for him did. I guess many don't read up on the people who run for office like I did and just take in the sound bytes. I wouldn't call those who voted for him retarded as someone else did, I would say ill informed..lazy or simply don't care enough to look further for the truth. 8)

truth..but of course you knew that already, just busting my balls I see.

It is NOT an over simplication of things. Look, OH was the state that put W over the top in 04. Rove was definitely the architect of that strategy and the scare tactic was definitely on the menu, as well as the smear job. Don't take my word for it, ask triple amputee Vet Max Cleland who W smeared and called a pussy in 2000.

I haven't said that W voters were retards...well, I will say though those who voted for him the second time are retards...but-

It's no secret, the majority of the electorate is lazy, ill informed, and flat out (politically)stupid.

You can ask them, Phyllis, since there's a bunch on here that voted for him twice. Out of all my friends that voted for him the second time, only one has said I was right. The rest would never admit that crossing over to vote for a Democrat is ever an option. Hell, up until a year ago many of my friends were saying he's doing a great job , until they finally had to acknowledge all was not well and by the end can't defend him since most of his own party isn't happy with him.

Yes it is an oversimplification. Yes, there were smear tactics...good lord, last time I checked in my lifetime that's politics as usual...sadly.

All I am saying is that for those of you wondering why people voted for him again in 04, it's because at the time they believed what they were being told. Just as they believe what they are being told now. People are by and large apathetic to politics. They prefer sound bites and quick fixes. Sure they voted. But once the voting is done...way too many of us sit back and only armchair quarterback what is going on in our government. I'd be willing to bet that's the same approach that will happen with the incoming government. There were a heck of a lot of people who voted Bush in. Am I to believe you fine people really think ALL of those people are "retards" or "idiots"? Cuz I'd be willing to bet many here did.

I'm not a fan of his presidency, but I'm not going to sit at this keyboard and make like none of us here had anything to do with him being in office either. Come on people...that's just a cop out.

Peace

It's a right wing meme that Max Cleland's injuries were sustained by a grendade mishap, and not actual enemy fire.
Therefore, they view him as fair game.

His congressional succesor, Saxby Chambliss, recently won re-election and in various interviews still defends the ads that compared amputee Cleland to Bin Laden and Saddam.
Par for the course, McCain and Sarah Palin recently went down to Georgia to help campaign for his re-election.

To be fair, it's worth noting that John McCain was one of the vocal few (along with Chuck Hagel) that demanded the commercials showing Cleland with the likeness of Bin Laden and Hussein be pulled immediately...and they were.

Nothing fair about it. LOL, McCain was himself smeared by Rove and Bush in 99/2000! Nothing like being a former POW and getting smeared by a draft dodger and cocaine abuser.

Obama is a good man, and this last campaign always paid a great deal of respect to Jon McCain and his undaunted service.

No different. Seriously, just because one is lesser in the forefront of peoples knowledge does not excuse it at all. Quit hiding behind that. Smearing, poor judgment, lying, rudeness...shouldn't be tolerated anywhere. Until everyone works towards that...certainly on a presidential campaign level, you get what you put in.

Judging by the standards allowed in all walks...just not gonna happen.

Oh, bullshit. You don't think that behind closed doors the McCain people weren't motherfucking and chopping apart the Obama people and vice versa?!?! Get real, we had our spats out here in the open and that's a little something that the Constitution allows us to do. It's a messageboard and, yes, the language was colorful at times, but you'd hear the same thing behind the closed doors of those actually in the race. This place was a healthy outlet and after Obama won everyone sort of came together...except Redwingfan. I'm worried about him.  :?
