When Sara (Virginia Madsen) and Peter (Martin Donovan) Campbell's son Matt (Kyle Gallner) is diagnosed with cancer, they uproot their family to a home in Southington, Connecticut where they would be near a hospital for his treatment. As the family settles into their new home, which turns out to be a former mortuary, Matt grows increasingly disturbed by paranormal activity that seems to inhabit and possess the house. At a loss to help her frightened family, his mother turns to an enigmatic priest (Elias Koteas) who appears to rid the house of its ghosts-- until the boy's condition takes a sudden and unexplained turn for the worse and their lives are put in grave danger.

Some people read, some people play Dungeons & Dragons, some people knit, some people examine the world outside their own perceptions. Makes life a little more tragic-beautiful to think of what might be around us that we can't see. You can't see emotions, but they're real. My Reality check happens everyday when I go to work. I work for a Scientology company. Every day I have to hear how if you're sick, it's really just thetans (souls from another planet that were brought here millions of years ago) that are disturbing you. Every office has beautiful decor consisting of pictures of Volcanos and spaceships in it, along with a copy of "The way to Happiness". I spend the day in comm with my boss, debugging juniors who are down tone and performing cycles on broken terminals that are in danger of becoming SP's (suppressive persons) and causing treason. When my day is over, I go back into my little alternate universe, which consists of science and common sense.

They allow a non-Scientologist to work there? I saw that video of Tom Cruise accepting an award and where they wear uniforms like the military and he salutes that David guy that runs it. (Of course, I guess how is that any weirder than the Pope in his outfit ) And I saw Tom's creepy promo video for Scientologists.

The reason they can tolerate me, is because their way of doing business surrounds statistics. When they assign conditions to their work output, they tend to grade on a curve when it comes to evaluating themselves. Since I'm neutral, I call it as I see it and bring their projected outlooks closer to what they actually have achieved.
