Who knows. This is head-coach firing overload today around the NFL. A lot of names out there that can single handidly turn around a franchise with a drop of a dime.

Can someone explain to me Shanahan's fall from grace in Denver? I saw a headline that said after back to back SBs, Shanahan made years of poor decisions or something along those lines. What are some of these decisions?

I don't know about bad decisions, but the fact that he's only won one playoff game since his last Super bowl (what was it- 97?) is a pretty telling stat.

John (31-18-1) and I (32-16)have been picking games for awhile now, and now would be a great time for everyone to jump in for the playoffs following a formula! We all know the boys are separated from the men in the post-season, so lets change things up a bit, and go by each round by a points system.

EVERYONE JUMP IN!

The AFC and NFC Wild card Rounds are going to be marked as 5 points. (Picking 2 of the 4 games)
The AFC and NFC Divisional Rounds are going to be marked as 8 points. (Picking 2 of the 4 games)
The AFC and NFC Championship Rounds are going to be marked as 13 points. (Picking 1 of the 2 games)
and The Superbowl is going to be marked as 16 points.

Before picking 2 of the 4 games in the first 2 rounds, this is the time to pick the Championship Matches, and the Superbowl Winner.

Whoever gets the Championship teams right, gains an extra 10 points on their total record.
Whoever picks the Superbowl winner gains an additional 25 points on their total record.

My picks for the Conference Championships for the AFC will be:
(2) Pittsburgh Steelers VS (1) Tennessee Titans

My picks for the Conference Championship for the NFC will be:
(6) Philadelphia Eagles VS (2) Carolina Panthers

SUPERBOWL:
Pittsburgh Steelers VS Philadelphia Eagles.

Superbowl Winner
Pittsburgh Steelers

Should be fun.
Good luck lads and gents!

AFC WILDCARD WEEKEND:

(6) Baltimore Ravens @ (4) Miami Dolphins - Miami has proven to be a reasonable team. That said, I'm not sold on them, AT ALL. Baltimore wins by a minimum of two touchdowns!
(5) Indianapolis Colts @ (4) San Diego Chargers - Probably a closer game than I'd care to see, as I'd like to see the fraud Chargers get blown out. The Colts win by a touchdown.

BYES: (1) Tennessee Titans ; (2) Pittsburgh Steelers

NFC WILDCARD WEEKEND:

(6) Philadelphia Eagles @ (3) Minnesota Vikings - McNabb's last hurrah for the city of Philadelphia. Philly pulls this one out by 3.
(5) Atlanta Falcons @ (4) Arizona Cardinals - This is the toughest game of the weekend for me to call. I don't like Arizona, at all and don't think they deserve to be in the playoffs. I also don't love rookie QB's in the playoffs, but I think Matt Ryan is the best rookie QB to come into the NFL in a very long time. I think Atlanta is the better team and will win a very close game if Ryan can continue his mistake free play.
BYES: (1) New York Giants ; (2) Carolina Panthers[/quote]

Atlanta @ Arizona
4:15 Eastern
- Arizona over Atlanta. This Matt Ryan love-fest will soon come down to a harsh ending. Arizona is a TOUGH place to play and I feel with Warners playoff and Superbowl performance, and a defense that FEEDS off of the crazy Arizona home crowd, that the Cards advance to the Divisional Round next week. Cards by 10.

Indianapolis @ San Diego
8:30 Eastern
- Indianapolis over San Diego. This is THEE hardest game to pick up to date. I believe either team has the same shot at winning, and think they match up very, very well. Manning has trouble with San Diego and the 3-4 defense as a whole, but he lasts one more week and knocks San Diego off from revenge of last years post season. Indy by 4.

Ladanian Tomlinson is officially the biggest pussy I've EVER seen in the NFL. This is the third consecutive playoff game this fucker has taken himself out of and walked the sidelines smiling when his team needs him. To make matters worse, Andrea Kreamer (NBC sideline reporter) said she talked to both Norv Turner and the Chargers "trainer" at halftime who both said "Tomlinson is fine". Well, if he's "fine", why the fuck isn't he in there helping his team? Hell, at least lie so the guy doesn't look like such a pussy who can never man up and play in a big game. I have lost total respect for this guy and will NEVER EVER EVER count him among the NFL great running backs, even if the Chargers come back and win this game on a 99 yard Tomlinson run!

The Chargers and Colts never dissapoint. Wow, have these two teams put on a great show for all NFL fans around the world, year in and year out.

Great contest. However I think both of these teams will go no further than next week.

I can't believe the end sequence of penalties either.. but it is what it was.. very important calls that were all CORRECT. 2 defensive holding calls, and a personal foul face masking where the dude almost ripped Sproles' head off.

Hot DAMN is Sproles one HELL OF A PLAYER. He runs faster than the wind and is so dynamic. Congrats Tango.

I thought the 3rd and 10 holding call was bullshit. It was a bailout call. Bad pass, the contact was at exactly the 5 yard allowance and they threw a flag. Brutal.

I thought it was a call you had to make. Obviously it dis-rupted the receivers route and without it, I believe he had a nice shot at the catch. If the call wasn't made, then that ref would of never seen a blade of grass from a professional football field ever again.

The Chargers sure do have the Colts' number in the Playoffs.

You can disrupt the receivers route within 5 yards as long as the ball is not in the air. The ref called "holding" and there was no holding, so he deemed the contact legal, but found a fantom holding call. Weird to say the least.

I guess from an arm-chair Quarterback standpoint, I saw both pass interference and holding on the play. There was no doubt he was held up in his route. Judgment eye call.

Chargers still have another chance to choke next week. It's part of the culture in Mexico's finest city. Baseball, football, doesn't matter. Zero championships. Even my pathetic Philly teams have a few rings at least in Baseball, hockey and basketball.
