Dear Frankenfuter... I understand things w/ Journey may be different for you personally. But that sounds like you're way too emotionally invested in what a group of lugnuts do with their jobs. It's just a band. I don't care what they do. They have no bearing on my well-being and my life. If they were to magically disappear today I wouldn't care. The parties and shows would go on with someone else. I've got these songs that I play that they made, you see. I don't listen to them a lot... but they're there when I want them. They could go through 20 more personnel changes today and I wouldn't care. I think what I'm trying to say is, don't take it so seriously.

I dont take it seriously. I don't know why you think so? I just don't give a fuck. The music doesn't do it for me anymore...that's all I'm saying. Really. If I took it seriously, I'd be fucking pasting up pictures of Neal Schon on the crapper or something...

..oh wait!

No, seriously, Rhi...I just dont care enough. I find it odd that certainly people here need to get their panties in a bunch when I come out and elaborate...but frankly, I just don't enjoy the music enough to care. I care more about connecting with certain peeps here...which is why I'm still around.

Frank I totally get what you are saying. I feel the same way. I just don't care at all. Don't care to listen to them at all. Maybe someday it will change but for now there is too much other music I would rather listen to.

I do agree Rhi....the parties, the friends, the good times (and the bad times) are something I always hold close to my heart and cherish. I wouldn't change any of that.

I been thinking about it and a few goals for 09- 1) Resume and Finish my Masters Degree in the Humanities 2) Finish an Olympic Distance Triathlon 3) Learn Italian so I can sit and watch and opera without having to look constantly at the subtitles.

And I want to be on record for doing something that helps someone else out in some recognisable way. This might be helping someone who has just lost their job and needs a few bucks, mowing the lawn of the elderly lady down the road. Or my philanthrophy might take the form of helping some hot blonde girl in a short skirt change a flat tire on her car, when I see her stranded on the road . I dunno- Ill think of something, and If I cant, Ill simply stop being an asshole on Tuesdays and Fridays, and call it even.

Of course "who knows what the world will be like in 09 . So- my biggest resolution is encapsulated In Jim Morrisons famous words at the beginning of the live version of Roadhouse blues " I want to get my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames" . That sounds like a fine call of action which I intend to acheive by taking the following actions :

1- Start to see other "people" too - I mean other bourbons- besides Jack Daniels. Maybe some Jim Beam, and other less known and worthy brands
2- Boost my post count on MR.Com to over 3000. (i wanna be that John Kalodner dude by March 1)
3- Buy, beg , borrow ALL albums reviewed by Wombat with a rating over 85 and play them loudly
4- Follow one worthly (worthy, not necessarily popular) melodic rock band around whilst they're on tour
5- Attend lots of festivals Arrow rock , Z Rock, Firefest 6 this year. Come home to US and attend one festival as well, and of course wherever possible, meet all of you in person and get real real roaring drunk. I mean real real roaring drunk.

The double posts aren't your fault. The board is still screwed up (what the hell is going on, anyway?) and the posts aren't showing up right away, so I think people are thinking they didn't go through and doing it again... I posted in the word thread and it was 2 minutes before the post was there.

Aside from #1, these are in no particular order

1. - lose weight
2. - actually start practicing and learning with my guitar & attempt to try to sing!!!
3. - get new computer
4. - get new record player
5. - get HDTV & blu-ray player (or PS3) by the time "Star Trek" is released on blu-ray
6. - get new living room furniture & larger bed
7. - start managing my time better
8. - get a better job that's actually permanent!!!
9. - start building my bar in the basement that I've wanted for years.
Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. YOU GOT THAT?

Frank wins this argument hands down. Rhiannon, IMO at least, the band you are a fan of reflects on the fan. Fan-as described means fanatical. How can anyone be a raucous fan of a group of men, all of them I might add, who are just dirt bag motherfuckers? These guys are all, I repeat all, bad people. They would sell their mothers to slavery for 5 bucks. Liars, deceivers, and backstabbers. That's not an opinion folks, that's a fact. Their record is one of slime and sleaze, from Azoff, to JT on down through the band itself, even to the mixers and producers.

I am glad someone other than me said it. This isn't sour grapes, this is just an ever present fast- Journey is just rotten.

Frank and Dean, you guys have taken this issue so far past the music that it's impossible to even take you guys seriously anymore. To try and coyly make people feel guilty for being a fan of Journey's music and the current lineup because you guys are afraid of the Journey Boogeymen is absurd. Music is a tough, cut-throat business. Perhaps the two of you should try Knittingcrochet.com or the Mary Kate and Ashley board.
