Full version of "Rumor's Out"...

Postby G.I.Jim » Sat Jan 03, 2009 7:08 am

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a great New Years, and have a great year ahead of each of you! I just uploaded a new version of "Rumor's Out" on my Myspace page for those of you that are interested. This version is finished with the exception of Robert's guitars. He should be working on the songs in the next few days, so I'll be updating as soon as I start getting tracks back from him.

I hope you enjoy this, as it's our hardest hitting song right now. There will definitely be more where this came from. Alex (the vocalist) will probably be flying here in March to help me finish the album. I can't imagine what we can accomplish by being in the same room together working on this stuff!!! It's very challenging working over the internet. Guess we'll see soon. Take care, and again...I hope you enjoy it!

The board is all messed up right now. Sometimes your posts don't show up at all.

I can't get the song to play brudda. :(

Way ahead of you, short bus. I dig the song, but the vox could have perhaps been a bit more prominent in the mix. And the guitar is a bit low also. But I'm certainly no expert.

It's working now. :D

Man that's got a great hard rocking edge. I can't wait to hear it with the guitar.

His vocals are good, except I think all of his falsetto parts should be done with the same effect used when he sings "Rumor is out". That sounds amazing.

Thanks for the input! I think the backing vocals could use a slight punch too. The guitars are going to be beefed-up and added to big-time once Robert puts his stamp on it. I can't wait to hear those smoking guitar fills/leads on this stuff.

Keep in mind though, that these are still just some rough demos (well...not too rough), and we'll try to tighten them up once we get all the recordings done!

That's not a bad suggestion Rick. I'll talk to Alex tomorrow and see if we can tweak something in those parts. I do think maybe by doubling up those notes, and giving it a little more effect...it'd be cool. It's also going to drive a little once the final guitars are added.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

My only thought is that the echo is a bit strong. Really looking forward to the finished product.

Thanks MG, yeah I had a short clip of it up before and the vocals only came out of one channel. The singers old mic was messed up, and for a while...everything he sent me only had vocals on the left or right side. He's bought a lot of new equipment since then, and it's sounding good.

I am going to talk to him today about some of your suggestions, and I'll keep you posted. Thanks for checking it out!

I was up until after three last night working on another new song, and I'll probably have a clip of it up in the next few days! Stay tuned...
