Mission Accomplished. The sentiment was premature, to say the least. The mission is still not accomplished, and never will be. The war on terror will never end. Toppling Saddam was not the mission. When he fell, everyone thought it was over I guess.

You do realize that the military put that banner up and that Bush knew nothing about it. And that war, all things considered, has gone remarkably well. Hussein is gone, schools are being built, women are no longer being raped whenever his sons get horny, and democracy is in its infant stages. The world really dropped the ball letting that shit go on for so long. He killed almost a million people. :(

That's not the only country where that is going on. It it, however, the only country where that is going on, that has oil.

It is also the only one that decided to play shell games with the U.N. And remember, Hussein was given carte blanche to take his money, family and everything else he wanted and simply walk away. Your argument about oil doesn't hold water. Hussein never envisioned we'd attack because he admittedly had Russia in his back pocket and their U.N. vote had veto power for an invasion, but Bush gave Russia and the U.N. a big Fuck You. Hell, the list of countries on Hussein's payroll was HUGE. Those fuckers (many European countries) were being paid so he could continue to rape, terrorize and slaughter. But you never hear about that from Europe. They should be ashamed. But they're not. They just turned the PR machine against us and simpletons bought into it.

St John- Your opinion is well received. We knew all along that Saddam became the ATM for terrorist groups and he got what he deserved !!! We knew from the 1st gulf war he had 212 tons of yellowcake. We knew that the Russians were in there selling their wares as they are now in Iran. They are the 55 semi's pictured on the news leaving for Syria and where much got buried. Recently, we removed the remaining yellowcake and quietly moved it to Canada to be used in nuclear reactors. Now, Obama will go to Afganistan to finish off Taliban and Al Queda as best as we can. He knows we have problems with Pakistan. He mentioned invading them months ago, but knows we can't . The world knows the tribal lords at about 5,000 ft in caves protect the terrorists. If Osama is still alive and he wants to live in caves, then he got his wish. Google Yellowcake and learn !
