Steve Perry New Year's Resolutions

Postby peridactyl » Thu Jan 01, 2009 6:56 am

OK, time for another recently posted Youtube video tribute to Steve Perry, and NO, it is not REALLY Steve Perry's New Year's resolutions,
but I think it is clever, and timely..... And worth getting more than the 84 hits it's gotten so far! So where better to share it than with Journey fans (I hope loon-haters don't feel inspired to bring out the big knives, cuz it's definitely a tribute meant primarily for the ladies..... )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FguTawHXCng

Enjoy!

Normally I roll my eyes at those dopey youtube things, but that one was kind of cute. And I thank the creator for NOT going the route I expected it to go with the modesty one and the pants one.

You know thinking about it this probably might depress the shit out of Perry if he sees it.

i mean if someone made a tribute video to me using footage of me in my prime, 40 pounds lighter, 20 years younger, happy as shit with my hot strawberry blonde prom date hanging off my arm in a her prom gown, roaring around in the reconditioned red ford mustang that was my pride and joy back then , I think "what the fuck happened Matt , where did it all go south dude :?: "  and then I'd dive into a bottle of Jim Beam and come out six weeks later. ..........

Well it shouldn't. Hmmm... pictured of himself looking great, doing what he loved, making people happy, looking great, pictures of him in the best years (probably) of his life, looking great, making music history (or least impacting upon it), making a zillion bucks, looking great... shit, that should make the guy happy as crap. He looked pretty great, too, not sure I mentioned that...

Men.

He didn't "fall" from glory though. I think he kind of wandered away from it, and then got lost in the cereal aisle looking for the Cocoa Pebbles. He seems pretty content with that though, otherwise I would think he'd have already done what he knows he can do about it.

I think he just gave it up because he knew his time had passed. Whatever your opinion is of his execution of said moving on, he did it, it's done, and that's that.

Or maybe he understands that life goes on and priorities and goals change. I would not go back to 20 for all the love of money. I am more happy now than I have been my whole life. Shallow things are fleeting.

Since I can't seem to post in the MR New Year resolution thread(or some shit like that)....I'm gonna post mine here.....hopefully.

1) To finally see a time when people will stop finding new, inventive, and sickening ways to insert the comment, 'New Steve Perry CD' into every thread known to man.......

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.
