Good, great, or not so great.

This question goes out to all MR Journey forum members.

There's no question that this forum has changed over the last few years. It's seen some really great times and some times that were just downright miserable. And it's all predicated on Journey. Yeah, that's bullshit isn't it? Actually, it's predicated on the membership.

There have been a ton of comings and goings at this site. Some of the goings were absolutely welcomed by the membership at large, and the vast majority of the comings have been absolutely great.

So, my question is this....

In respect to the time that you've been here, who and why are you glad to see who's come and gone?

It doesn't need to be overgratifying or nasty, just your opinion.

Me? I think one of the best additions to the board in my time has been Rip Rokken.

Most of the people here are pretty cool and I'd chill with most if their online personas are at all like their real personas. I just ignore the fags here so no one bothers me

Certainly. I should have included your favorite poster.

My favorite banned member would have to be Journeytroll. I'm sure that will be a big favorite with the legacy posters.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my 2nd stint here at MR. I've had SO many laughs and good times here. However, I hesitate to name names because I wouldn't want to leave anybody out.

I will say that RiP, SJ, and RND have made me laugh the MOST, for good reasons.

SW2 needs to come with a Rosetta Stone....I have no idea what he is saying.

I would have to say my all time favorite poster is SW2. I look forward to his posts and sometimes I'll follow a topic just to read his comments. How anyone can be that witty is beyond me. I love that guy and not only is he funny but he's a great guy too.

I also enjoyed Shoot 'em Up even though he did cause an identity crisis epidemic for a week or so.  (love ya Rick)

Shoot 'em up was nothing but a prick! Still is, as far as I know.

That was a mess.

I cannot say for long term, I am still learning how all this works myself. Everyone here I think makes the board interesting, even folks I can say I don't always agree with. But that is why it is an oppinion board isn't it? Varying oppinions and thoughts. Beleive it or not that is how you challenge what you beleive.

Who is a blessing? Wow, I would have a large list, and I am afraid to forget people. Some I want to mention is Rick of course you! :D Arianddu, she is a great lady, Rhi keeps me in stitches, Deb is cool, Conversation PC some great lines from him, Michigan Girl, always kind and sweet, Scarabgator, for his enthusiasm and friendship, SW2 is one of the funniest guys here, Andrew, without whom this place would be. Geez so many others, and I have to agree, Rip keeps me in stitches.

As far as ones not too sad to see go..........I don't know............I just feel if they leave in a huff, they either were not happy here, or whatever...............plenty of great people still here in my oppinion. They can either understand we are not all going to see things eye to eye, or insist their way or the highway. Usually people who want it only their way, usually go the way of the highway.

I miss Elaine (Little Lenny) and Shaggy going to war with Deano on behalf of the Euros. I know she had health issues and I hope she's doing alright.

Noble Cause comes to mind as does Papa Joe, Deano, Michigan Girl, Conversation Peace (?), Moon Beam and the guy who teased her so much a year or two ago...there are many characters who stand out in my mind cause they are characters. RocknDeano is just fun and atrocious...I know I'm missing quite a few. I like Noble cause he is thought provoking...PaPa Joe cause he knows what he is talking about and doesn't fill his statements with needless humor, Deano cause he is usally dead on about things, Conversation Piece cause Noble loves to kick his ass, Moon Beam cause she is lithe and spiritual...I like those who offer something unique and individual. I am missing so many but I'll think about it...Nora, yeah, she has her own perspective on things as a singer. I really dig her critiques. Yeah, Jeremey cause he's in the thick of things and speaks of what he knows....I could go on and on and on.

Well I don't have favorites, but I'd like to mention, apart from the insults at times, it's refreshing reading John From Boston (Enigma), setting the facts straight time and time again with regards to the band Journey, obviously repeats himself a lot, but! somebody has to educate these folk when it comes to facts and figures, and often misguided fans need to be simply told the truth, weather they like it or not, so that's always a good read.

Agreed. I enjoy John from Boston/Enigma's brutal posting when he sets the record straight. Rick and Rip are the sweetest guys on here. Gunbot the most sarcastic and dry humor, but always has something interesting to say. SM, great wit. Deano and SJ let's just say are the most passionate on the board and make for interesting reading. SteveW2 grows on you . Everyone comes on here with a different perspective and unique personality, so I really enjoy all the guys who post on here for different reasons. Never anything boring said by them; that's for sure.

Hands down BJG is the funniest and wittiest female on here. But all the women on here are awesome 8) . That goes without saying.

I don't know who I should be glad is gone. I only lurked. But when I have insomnia I go back and read old threads, and some are hilarious. I shouldn't start reading old threads when I can't sleep, b/c they definitely do the opposite and keep me awake and it becomes addictive reading.

The last hysterical one I read was NIG and AngieKay going at it on the Gene Simmons thread over hunting and killing deer. :D

It stands for "Conversation Piece", the name of a song by one of my favorite bands, Savatage.

I just don't have favorite posters. Or those that annoy me (at least not that I'll admit to).

Chat rooms take on a life of their own that is far different than reality.

I'm good with that

I think that makes this board fun, the scrappers, (I am not good at that at all! So I take my hat off to the pros!) The ones that just have a way with a phrase, etc. I suck at all this, but I appreciate being a part of it all. :D
