Don't care much for Mr. Big, but I really like Gilbert's and Sheehan's work besides it. They are both world class musicians. But I am a pretty big Bruce fan too even though his politicking is obnoxious.

And are you saying Bruce, Nils and Steven, and Bittan are not world class musicians? Curious to hear your take on this.

Nah, definitely not. Anybody that plays this long with that much success is world class in my eyes. I don't know how much input the rest of the guys typically get on a Bruce+E Street album in terms of songwriting? Enlighten me if you could? That would really heighten my opinion of Bruce's backing band.

Bruce writes the entire album via piano or guitar. Bittan adds his ideas as well as Steve. Clarence plays when and where Bruce tells him to. It is a one man show(director). No one argues in this band!

Cool. Hopefully Working on a Dream is as good as Magic. That was one of Bruce's best records ever. BTW, just saw Magic's only 7.99 on iTunes. That's a deal, snatch it up doubters.

Don't shoot me, but that's the Bruce I like. That was a great album. Music for me is all about fun/passion/emotion/entertainment. That's probably why I like the 70/80/90s rock music so much. I don't need epic storytelling or politics, stories I can read in books. Give me a great beat/hook or some soul/emotion instead. :)

I agree. It's ok for some of the latter elements to be involved, but hooks/passion need to be there too. I don't care how introspective or prophetic the lyrics might be, if they aren't captured in a great song, I don't care 99% of the time.

Bruce Springsteen is among a few, very few, rock 'gods' in the entire world. His 40 yrs (+/-) of commercial success and critical acclaim prove it. And, his name & his branding, The Boss, is possibly right up there with Michael Jordan, among others. How anyone can compare marginally successful others, no matter how likeable & technically proficient they may be, to Bruce Springsteen is simply laughable.

Okay, I'm a promoter and I've got MSG for three nights. My booking choices are Mr Big or Bruce Springsteen. Who do I think will sell more tickets...hhmm...??? Tough choice...yeah, right...

I doubt Mr Big ever played MSG either alone or with others. Kidding aside, Eric Martin is solid, and has chops, and yes, I tease the tinkle out of Debs crotch, but he is decent. However, like Arkansas said, to compare him with Bruce is asinine.

As for who would sell more tickets, I can only think maybe U2, Bon Jovi or the Stones could come close, especially in MSG/Jersey.

LOL! Love the 'Carlton'. I can just imagine how many times Will Smith cracked up trying to film this episode.   http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=G6kKOvDeiZE

Not trying to compare Bruce Springsteen with Mr. Big. Major talent in both bands. I'm no promoter and could care less about numbers, I like what I like. And if given a choice the same night of a Springsteen show or a re-united Mr. Big show, I'd choose the latter. :)
