Well, if this is indeed a small tour, then the BA situation starts to make sense. He only wants to perform 10 days or so a month, and while a Journey tour would of course be longer than 10 days a month, a short tour could probably work. I hope to hell Adams says no.

Who says that Journey can't have several openers? Why does it have to be constant for the entire year? Have Foreigner for a month, BA for the next, Tall Stories for another, etc.

Who says Journey has to close? They should go open for a bigger band and get some notoriety.

True they could (if their ego will allow) , but who would they open for?

That actually would be a smart thing to do, get all those young teens singing along to DSB and Faithfully, get the back catalog moving even more then it has been.

Even Miley Cyrus or Hilary Duff might be good one to open for.

you and me both. (wow did i really say that ;) ) since i don't fund the band journey any longer i would have to pass on this. and i would be very disappointed to miss a ba stop in my area. i would hate to miss foreigner also, so i do hope they are not the tour partner either.

BA and Journey are Wal Mart brothers! Maybe it's part of their Wal Mart contract to tour together :)

They could open for anyone; Eagles, Queen, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, anyone. Journey to most here would appear to be a headlining band, but let's be honest for a minute. They opened for Def Lippard(that was not a co-headlining tour), they closed REO and Styx(and got beat every night), and basically are a closing band on the lower tier of bands...big deal. As for Adams, as stated earlier, anywhere but the US, Journey opens for him. Not being a downer, just being a realist.

My guess is it will be a co-headline with Boston and/or Foreigner.

Personally, if I were Azoff, I would inquire about 5 for fighting or Train, play large theaters or casinos. Casinos pay well and are easy to fill up.

I don't give a fuck if they found him on Dancing With The Stars. The dude is a great singer and fits into the band extremely well.

No argument from me. He sounds great, and no accent either. His old band, Hurricane, had Robert Sarzo on guitar, brother of Rudy who we were talking about earlier (WhiteSnake, Ozzie, Quit Riot, etc.).

My Sarcasm meter must have be out of order on the original post.

Both Robert Sarzo and Tony Cavazo's brothers were in Quiet Riot,... Rudy Sarzo and Carlos Cavazo. As for Hurricane, Robert left after the Over The Edge album in 1988 and Doug Aldrich took over on guitar. 8)

And didn't Doug Aldrich end up in Whitesnake, as did Rudy Sarzo when he left Quiet Riot?

I'd have absolutely NO interest in seeing this....HOWEVER, to see Hansen, I'd consider it.

With apologies to The Stones, you could call it the Steel Wheels Tour....complete with wheel chairs.

I almost went to that very show, but I had seen Bryan before and didn't care to see him again. I wasn't going to pay full price just for the opener even though that is who I was interested in! To this day I wish I had gone because I never had another opportunity to see The Storm (or Kevin and/or Gregg) and I do know Bryan puts on an enjoyable show.

Train's name has been thrown around for YEARS as a good "current" band to play with Journey. Sad thing is, they are no longer a particularly "current" band themselves...

EXACTLY. The last really big hit they had was "Calling All Angels" and I'm pretty sure I wasn't even in college yet.
That song Pat released last year, "Her Eyes" was pretty cute... but I honestly don't see this match up as sensible.

You just wanna see JT again.

Quiz time.

If you see JT in front of my car, where are the tire marks?

The tire marks lead away from the collision. I would run that piece of shit over and over til he was the size of baby Grimace, then poor my Gatorade bottle of piss that I used on the road trip to find this asshole, all over his face, throw a burning cigarette on his head and drive off laughing screaming, saying, "Fuck you!"

I don't even smoke, but would light up for that occasion.

Foreigner and BA

Postby kellyhansenfan » Thu Jan 08, 2009 9:03 am

Well, naturally I must get my 2 cents in here. Obviously, I am a Kelly Hansen fan. I think he is an amazing talent. After seeing Foreigner over 20 times in the last year-ish, I will go see them with just about anyone.....except Journey is going to be difficult for me. I absolutely do not want to see JT again. Foreigner did that short summer tour in 08 with Bryan Adams and it was a good show, as I had never seen BA before...they took turns opening, which seemed to work out well. I also liked Foreigner with DL and Styx, except for the shorter set. Foreigner does already have a few dates booked in the US this winter and then some summer dates in Germany and abroad. I just have a bad feeling that they still plan to reschedule those late November, early December 2008 dates at some point with Journey :(

RockinDeano...in regards to the tire marks....I want to be in the FRONT SEAT of that car, please! :)

You ever hear the story of that asshole and myself in the middle of Planet Hollywood and PF Changs? That was a doozy. I would have ripped his fucking head off if there was a way I could avoid jail. Maybe St John can retell that or dig it up. He had a nice little write up on that episode.

Oh yes, I have lurked here for a long time and did read that. He loves to tell people not to show their faces at future shows. Been there, done that, too. I keep a pretty low profile, but I think it would be great to chat with you one day :)
