Florida won the MNC again, you're happy, getting a vicarious thrill, we get it Colonel.

But you're running the risk of OD'ing the board on The University Of Florida hyperbolic posts.

Red, you know I think your a great guy and I respect what your saying but what do you think this thread is gonna be about? You know its gonna be Gators coming in. I havent flooded other topics with my Gator passion, Ive kept it all here.
And I have to disagree with you-PSU is "your" team. Your a fan, an alumni and you support them. Theres nothing wrong with calling them "your" team. Hell bro, they are your team!!!

BTW congrats Tim..... I used to be pasionate about anything Iowa State... but well losing takes its hold on you... but still suppport em when I can... ISU can only dream of being in that championship league in Football... we almost got there in Basketball with Eusstachy back in2000??? as they lost to Michigan state in the elite 8 by just a few points...robbed of a victory then still think that way!! anyway... good win last night.. it sounds like Tebow is coming back and loved Switzer's comment that it could be a rematch next year... with Bradford and Tebow. Still think the BCS is flawed and UTAH should be #1 as they are the only UNDEAFTED team. no matter how you shake it 13-0 still beats one loss any day of the week---but thats another debate for another time.

I don't agree with this logic across the board, but in the case of Utah, I do.
Having won a BCS game in an SEC hotbed against a former #1 team, they've earned at least a share of #1.

Clearly U$C-FL would've been the best MNC game too but stubbing that toe against Oregon St kept SoCal out.

*sigh* It is what it is... a flawed system. Regardless, it is a really good time to be a Utah fan, and a GREAT time to be a Florida fan! Congrats SG!!!

Remember the player he taunted was the same one who ran his mouth earlier in the week about Tebow being the 4th best QB in the Big 12 and probably the 6th best in the nation.,...I think Tebow got that boneheads attention....Tebow does his talking on the field, not at a media gathering..

awesome!!!!!! Im taking my little girls. We've met several players before including Tebow. My 17 year old has a picture of her and him together-he put his arm around her and I didnt think she would stop smiling all day...Im hoping to get a pic with Urban, another with Tebow, hell anyone we can get close enough to. We also met the Pouncey twins and had a pic taken with them. And thats just this class!!!! Over the years we have been so lucky to meet these guys and talk to them. Im still friends and talk to regulary the kicker from our 2006 team, Chris Hetland. He lives here in south Georgia and weve played golf and had beers together. Its great to sit and talk to a former player who can tell you about everything inside....I would start a list of all the players we've met, taken pictures with but TBH I wouldnt have enough time. Met Urban, Zook, Spurrier, and Galen Hall at past Gator Gatherings-thats a great place to meet the coach! Shit, how did I get off on this tangent...anyway have a great time tomorrw-I cant wait to see that trophy!!!!

It is amazing what a night of sleep will do for ya!!! Yesterday I was a dead man walking all day...I was going on very little sleep and hung over to death, just miserable feeling but jubilant over another Gator National Championship. Now today I woke up at 8am and feel like a new Gator and ready to GET IT ON!!!! Reality is setting in that we are the BEST in the nation again!!!! Just a great feeling...it really is GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!!!

Well ...for what its worth, Im probably biased a bit  , I agree in principle with the guy...but seriously does anybody

think Utah could actually beat the Gators at this point....cmon! USC would be the only team....that would make me nervous.

In all fairness, no one was picking Ole' Miss to beat the Gators either, especially in the swamp.

I totally agree.......Ole Miss was the most underrated team this year in my opinion. Thier qb will be the a star next year....I Id wouldnt bet against them next year. But in fairness.......the gators are a different team now than they were than.

I bet SG is beyond excited about this!

Tim Tebow to Gator fans: 'I'm coming back'

By Jeremy Fowler | Gainesville Bureau

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow announced Sunday he will forgo the NFL draft and stay with the Gators for his senior season.

After much anticipation during an hour-plus-long ceremony to celebrate the national title at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Tebow finally said in front of 42,000 in attendance, "By the way, one more thing -- Let's do it again, I'm coming back."

Tebow said he decided Saturday afternoon after spending the day with Florida Coach Urban Meyer and talking with NFL types. Meyer is good friends with New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick and Jacksonville Jaguars Coach Jack Del Rio.

The feedback on his draft projections varied and life in the NFL was tempting, he said, but he couldn't overcome his affinity for the Gators.

"I just felt loyal to this place," Tebow said. "I feel like a role model. A lot of times today, people start things and don't finish them. I didn't want to be like that. I wanted to be loyal to the university and finish what I started and play another year."

As a senior, Tebow can build on an already-sterling college football career burnished by two national championships and a Heisman Trophy. Tebow would be working on a third Heisman Trophy campaign had he won this year's ceremony in which he finished third behind Oklahoma's Sam Bradford and Texas' Colt McCoy despite gaining the most first-place votes.

Tebow, who has 110 career passing and rushing touchdowns, will become the last quarterback since USC's Matt Leinart in 2005 to have a legitimate shot at a third national title.

His latest goal is an undefeated season in 2009.

"That's something never been done at the University of Florida," Tebow said.

No word yet on whether wide receiver Percy Harvin or linebacker Brandon Spikes will return for their senior seasons, though numerous Gators sources say Spikes is expected to follow Tebow back to Gainesville.

Florida will be stacked even if they lose both players. After returning most of the offensive and defensive weapons, the Tebow-led Gators could be the preseason No. 1 for 2009, which amplifies the expectations even more.

Meyer jokingly said his "knees started shaking, sweat down my forehead" when his quarterback informed him of the decision.

"I gave him a big hug and I told him I loved him whatever he did," Meyer said.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez, one of Tebow's favorite targets, said the Gators should be the preseason No. 1.

"It all revolves around him," Hernandez said. "With him back, we already have our leader. We have our whole defense back, basically our whole offense. I think we should be (No. 1)."

The recent hiring of quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler, formerly with the Detroit Lions who has worked with Tom Brady and Chad Henne from his days at Michigan, factored into Tebow's decision because of the NFL traits he can learn.

But don't expect Tebow to change his style of play to impress a couple of scouts at the next level. His goals are clear.

"Even coming into this year, it's not my focus to get ready for the NFL," Tebow said. "That's a goal. But my focus is to come back and win an SEC champ and another natty and make it three of four."

LOL..

Tebow did the math in more ways than one.

1- He saw or heard he was no where near a first round pick; more like a third rounder.

I think the guy could have potentially gone undrafted. He has no NFL skills...not one. He'll be a fullback if he wants to suit up on Sundays. Either that or he'll be a career backup...if that. He'll never consistently start in the NFL. What makes him great in college doesn't apply in the NFL.
