That is my favorite song ...I've even requested that as one of the songs to be played at my passing. I have made a cd consisting of songs that have meant a lot to me and in the event of my death I wish to be cremated and for my ashes to be taken out in a boat and sprinkled in the ocean...of course I may not have any awareness of it but the idea appeals to me more then being in the ground...I love the water and I like the thought that the form I leave would continue to travel through the world. I also don't want a sad traditional funeral and the lasting image of me to be one in death so I want those closest to me to have a peaceful experience where they can reflect on our shared experience...a relaxing boatride..listening to music and enjoying nature because it is one of my greatest joys. I don't want anyone to be sad but to be appreciative of the time we had together...thats what I want done with my body... I hope that my spirit will remain in the hearts of those that have known me.
Sorry..don't wish to bring this down but death is an inevitable experience so I think it's good to discuss and do what someone wishes when the time comes..but I understand that it makes many people uncomfortable to talk about it..sooo..back to the music. :)

I'm going to do a rock/pop quiz at my funeral. I am always driving people mad by playing songs and "saying whose this then?" When they don't know I put something else on so I'm always getting accused never playing a song all the way through.

So at my funeral everybody gets an answer sheet, and rather than a service, the first 20 seconds of 15 or so songs of my choosing are played, and everybody has to write down who they think it is. I'm still working out how I'm going to mark the results from the grave, but after all the effort I have made in trying to educate people on Journey, anyone who doesn't correctly identify Don't stop Believin is going to get haunted by me for the rest of their lives.

yup. Kid Rock is my guilty pleasure. this song is a little too country twangy for me, however. I don't enjoy his bluegrass set. :?

ya know, I videoed some of his show when he was here in Corpus Christi--I don't think I ever put them up. i'll get after it.

This song came on the radio on my way home tonight so I turned it way up and forgot. My daughter got in the car later and when was startled when the radio was turned way up. I had to explain to her that I actually think there's a law on the books requiring that the volume be turned nearly all the way up while listening to this song....

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Wow, I like that one. Great voice! Going to have to agree with our resident Cookie Monster G (by the way, that's your new rap handle now, Gayle  ) and say I really like his vocal tone and delivery. :o

And go figure, Wayne Isham's handy work on the video. He's done some of my favorite 80s and 90s rock videos. :) http://www.mvdbase.com/tech.php?last=Isham&first=Wayne

Sorry..don't wish to bring this down but death is an inevitable experience so I think it's good to discuss and do what someone wishes when the time comes..but I understand that it makes many people uncomfortable to talk about it..sooo..back to the music. :)

This song simply is my heart to my husband's. He has been there so many times for me, emotionally and otherwise. He is the second half of my heartbeat. We have been friends since I met him when I was 18. I felt instantly at ease with him, he completes me. :D :D :D :D The words express it perfectly in this song.

Yes sir it is.

Went to the Speedway and the Doobie's Brothers started the show, Augeri lead Journey followed, and then Kd Rock. Kid Rock who I hated at the time, was so much more alive and fun. Journey went through the motions. People actually left to go get beers. I was able to simply walk right to the stage. There was no excitement at all. When Kid Rock came on, the place was alive.
