Appreciation for everyone for the great COMEDY RELIEF, which is abundant on here, and appreciation for the only place I can talk about all things Journey (good and bad) and every little piece of news or discussing for the umpteenth time one of their songs, concerts, (you name it, it's been discussed here), without someone tuning me out. Okay, I probably am tuned out on here.

Blueskies...I appreciate the fact that you wanted to bring a kayak and a tent into my yard.  That was funny though. For the record, when I asked Dan about you coming, he said you were a "very cool and funny chick". That's a direct quote. I hope we can all overlook these posts and get along. I'd love the chance to party and hang out with any of you! My .02 cents :D

I'm also happy for Liquid Drummer and his technical abilities to bring us clips like he does with the vocals boosted. Very cool. He's also a great singer!

Thanks, I'm here for your entertainment!  I also appreciate you for the fact that you like Peter Gabriel. "In Your Eyes" is an amazing song. I have one or two of his live dvd's, and he's a hell of a showman on stage too! Great singer.

It would be too easy to simply write a list of all the cool people I like, appreciate and am amused by, but I thought it would be more challenging and in the spirit of Jim's initial post to instead address the people who annoy me. I've got a high bullshit threshold (occasionally my tolerance wears thin and I let loose, admittedly   ) but there are a few people here, admittedly some of whom I otherwise quite like, who punch my buttons regularly. Some of them I consider friends but they irritate me regularly, some I want to dislike more than I do but can't because of their redeeming features, most fall somewhere in between.

Angel - respect and admire her passion for her work. I grew up surrounded by medical personnel of all descriptions, and midwives are some of the best people. Think of a midwife's job and usually you think of the joy of birth; we don't often consider the pain, fear, anger, sorrow and bewilderment that are also part of the birth process. Natalie strikes me as the kind of person who can guide a woman through, let her know it's ok to feel those things, giving her the emotional support and strength to keep going to the miraculous, joyous end.

Blueskies - shows a strength and determination to be her own person, regardless of the naysayers or what current 'popular opinion' on the board is, that I admire and respect, even when I don't agree with her point of view.

Conversationpc - he and I are on about the opposite ends of the scale when it comes to religion and belief in god, but I admire his deep self-assurance of his faith and his respectful acceptance that his chosen path is not the right one for everyone.

Deano - what can I say that hasn't been said? Behind the mouth is a brain, behind the bravado is respect, behind the bluster is loyalty. One day I'm going to take Dean out for an evening of drinking and bullshitting, and I know that for most of the night we are going to end up arguing about stuff we actually agree on; we'll argue about how and why we agree on it because the battle of wits is the fun part! And I give him big respect points for being a man who isn't afraid to take personal care of his child.

Enigma/John from Boston - a man of conviction who stands by his principles, no matter what. He does actually listen to his opponents, even though he doesn't agree with them, which I think often gets missed. And I like that he isn't afraid to get mushy about his child in public.

Madsplash - I read his posts and I sometimes feel like I'm watching a young player for a junior High School sports team; at the moment he is a one-trick-pony, but the potential is there for him to become a major MR board player. I'm waiting with anticipation for him to jump into some other subjects and topics of discussion, to see how that passion and excitement about Journey and Steve Perry translates.

ScarabGator - he flirts with every woman on the board, it seems, but never lets it become crude or sleazy. There is quite the strong streak of the old-fashioned southern gentleman in SG, even when it gets lost in the shouting.

Stevew2 - reminds me of a big happy puppy who always wants to play and be with people, but who doesn't quite understand why he gets yelled at when his tail knocks people's drinks off the table or he gets muddy paw prints on their clothes when he jumps up on them. He takes so much shit thrown at him with good humour, and only rarely rises to it; he usually just smiles and rattles off another confusing but good natured response. And he seems determined to be a good dad to his girl, which always gets good marks in my book.

StJohn - regularly gets me grinding my teeth, determined that I just can't stand him, and then he goes and makes a joke at his own expense, or defends someone he would normally bait, or sheepishly admits he got it wrong, and I just can't help but like him. When I'm done drinking and bullshitting with Deano, I'm going to track Dan down for an evening of drinking and arguing about stuff we don't agree on, and I suspect it'll be just as much fun.

Tito - man, talk about the bulldog biting and not letting go! I don't quite get the passion for Jon Cain (sometimes I think he makes the loons look perfectly sane) but I applaud his loyalty and tenacity. And like stevew2, he seems to take an awful lot of jokes made at his expense with reasonably good grace.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
