Nothing we say really matters. I just want to know one thing: If a new SP release comes out by November, just tell me individually, what will you have to say?
Just tell me.

If it doesn't, I'll say that I'm sorry that what I was told was inaccurate and that I'm sorry that I got many people's hopes up and that we can always hope for next year.

But tell me, what will YOU say if it does happen?

I just really want to know, because I'm writing it down.

.

First of all something probably IS gonna happen. Journey hit one over the centre field fence in 2008. Were in the bottom of the inning and Perrys up to bat, and really ought to respond in some other way than laying down a bunt single down the third base line. So Im sure he is , and as a Perry fan, I hope he crushes the fuckin ball over the top of the upper deck, (and if Neals pickup truck is in the parking lot, I hope it breaks the windshield).

As to what we will say to you if you are right - its gonna be : "oh what a great perry release, love steve perry, on and on and on. Half of us wont care and will have forgotten who you are and the other half of us also wont care either but still will find you irritating (although we still will have nothing personally against you) . Perry wont care who you are and what you knew. And if for some reason he was using you, to put a message out, it will be yeah nice work, leave me alone now, Im done with you and spittin you out with my last wad of Big Red chewing gum.

You'll be a friggin nobody like the rest of ,restlessly drifting, looking for your ten minutes of fame.

Unless you are Perry himself, then take off the mask, Im sure you can take us :D :D

The fact that this guy wants us to tell him what exactly we will say to him if Perry does do something, says everything about his motivation. If he honestly thinks people will give two shits that he 'predicted' it, versus the attention being focused on what Perry is doing, he is in more of a haze than even I believe he is.

I believe something will happen.
I mean, c'mon - Steve had Lora put a notice on FA about "misuse" of DSB:

Lora & Cyndy! wrote:September 5, 2008

Steve cannot speak for the current members of Journey but we have been told that Steve Perry as a Co-Writer and Singer was never contacted for permission to use the performance of "Don't Stop Believin" at the RNC. As far as he is concerned, this song and his performance have NO political party affiliation.

Lora & Cyndy

 Think about it - we're talking about new material here - no C&D....?

Seriously, my 10 bucks are yes, I believe this is happening.

Dean - you know it's not a matter of whether any of us believe dicksplash, it's the fact that he constantly comes in here to shoot his wad . . . er uhm. . . shoot his mouth off. :P

Agreed. ANYONE could pronounce that Perry is going to release an album this year giving nothing more specific than likely before November (and if it then slips a month so what, close enough). Fact is it might well happen and it might not. Journey's success in 2008 might actually have ignited the fire under Perry's arse and made him loosen his grip on those poor kittens necks long enough to hold a mic and actually record something substantial.

Fact is Madsplash is ramming his so called insider information down peoples throats so hard they are balking on it. It doesn't matter if Andrew hears the real legitimate news around the same time as Madsplash's sisters, uncles boyfriend - that's likely pure coincidence and blind luck on the spashs' part.

I want a piece of the action and I suggest everyone else does the same -

Hey folks,

I heard my local paperboy singing a Journey song this morning on his round and asked if he was a fan. He said he was but mainly of Perry's voice, and was absolutely stoked to have heard via his sisters, uncles long lost cousin who heard from a shoe shine boy whilst on holiday in Florida that Steve Perry had been working on new material with a view to releasing an album at some point this year, likely before November but it could be earlier or maybe later. I am a big fan of Stevie so I asked where his sisters, uncles long lost cousins shoe shine boy heard the news and upon receiving the answer from the local paperboy believe the sources to be 100% correct and above reproach. He told me that this irrefutable source was the internets, the bastion of all the worlds truthful knowledge (if it's on Wikipedia or a message board it's fact. Period) ;-)

So there it is, I have it on the best most trustworthy authority that Steve Perry could release something other than his bowels this year. Even my local butcher confirmed it. I don't care if no-one believes me and I will be unbearable until such time as an album is released and worse afterward for I am Nostrildamus of the wide prediction and I leave you with the following pompous mantra..."WE'LL SEE"

"Meh."
Because it's not that big of a deal to me. Being subjective and realistic, I might buy it... listen to it once or twice, and then it'll end up with the rest of my CDs in a storage container. And there's always the off chance that it might suck, too.

I'm cool with Bernard. He doesn't speak well, but my favorite fighter ever, Iron Mike, isn't exactly well spoken either!

I'm also an Oscar fan. I'll throw this at ya and see what you think. There has never been a heavyweight that possesed the power AND the hand speed of Tyson in his prime. He was on his way to becoming the greates heavyweight off all time and got completely derailed after Jim Jacobs died. Cus had already gone, but he still had JJ and Kevin Rooney to be his family.

Once slimeball Don King horned in after JJ's death, he convinced Mike to fire Kevin and that was the end. Rooney was the last guy that Tyson respected.

King made Tyson hundreds of millions of dollars but brainwashed Mike into thinking that he needed him and Mike felt all alone and jumped into Don Kings grasp. Sad, sad stuff.

Either way, I still say in his prime, with Kevin Rooney still traing him and having never left, Mike would have beaten any heavyweight that ever lived. Never been that combo of speed and power before and sure as hell hasn't since. With the European heavyweights now (i.e. the Klitschko's) they are very technically sound , but boring, lacking agression and lacking the killer instinct to put hurt fighters away.

Maybe we can hit it off talking boxing, you seem to be a big fight fan.
Hell, some people seem to want me to post about things other than the new disc Steve Perry is gonna release later this year, how about boxing?

I just watched the Tyson/Douglas fight again on ESPN. I just noticed that it took Tyson about five minutes after being counted out to gain his senses and realize the fight was over. Even though he was on his feet that entire time, his brain was still in shut down mode.

Yea, he was. That was at the peak of his dominance being finished. A well trained (by Rooney) motivated Mike, would have beaten Douglas in a couple rounds.

Fact is, he had stopped using head movement and stopped coming in behid his jab. Just walking around firing single bombs. That was still enough to beat almost anyone else as time went by because of the pure power, but against the really good guys he lost to(Holyfield, Lewis) that wasn't enough. He would have beaten Evander and Lennox on the same night, back to back in 1987. Wouldn't have even been a contest. Evander was too small for him and he would have jabbed in and broken Lewis's glass jaw in a few rounds.

And as for the ear biting thing in the 2nd Evander fight. It was wrong to do, but he had gotten so tired of Evander head butting him for the whole first fight and then in the second, he snapped. It was wrong, but that's WHY he did it. Did you see the top above Mike's left eye? Evander's has butted everyone he's ever fought. He's had to because he's always been smaller and weaker than a true heavyweight. He is a true cruiserweight. Just look and Evanders legs, that'll tell you. And I like Evander. It's just that he wouldn't have lasted 4 rounds with Mike in 1987 or 1988 either.

I love talking boxing, bring it on, guys!

God damn it! Seems we actually have something in common. I agree with almost everything you said above bar Bernard's non existent speech impediment. Love Tyson. Prime Tyson could have beaten any heavyweight past or present. He became a shell of himself as time and troubles took their toll.

Sad indeed.

I really think Tony Tucker could have beaten Mike if he just wasn't so worried about getting knocked out. He was a big as Buster and had more skills, but the legend of Tyson's power took him out of his game more than actually any of Mike's punches did.

I'm working on a few at the moment. Actually just wrestling with a bowed canvas and hoping some linseed oil and applied pressure will do the trick as it's too large to easily replace.
