THE BEST LIVE ROCK ALBUM VOTE OF ALL-TIME!

Postby Rick » Fri Jan 16, 2009 7:38 am

If y'all feel like doing this again, here's the link.

I did it, and of course nominated Captured.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Best Journey album in my opinion, sums up the nutless era perfectly.

You're a dolt, the captured songs raise what may be a bunch of too quirky songs for you on the first perry albums to untouchable heights.

Least it does for me. Where I cringe a little on the Infinity version of La Do Da it smokes on Captured for example.

I vote for Get Yer Ya Yas Out though.
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001

Thanks for reminding me! :D
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Captured is for sure, however the second live album they released has quite a bit of studio magic going on IMO.

i like the escape tour '81 video but if they would put out an official captured live video based around the actual album that would be killer.i prefer gregg rollie over jon cain any day although jon did bring them much greater success when he joined but to me the band had a more raw edge when rollie was there.

Bringing Cain in was certainly the move from 70s rock to 80s pop, and the less Schon was involved in the writing process, the less rock there was to the sound...

GREAT, GREAT record!

Not my all-time favorite, but Scorpions' "World Wide Live" is a classic live release.

Frampton Comes Alive without even looking

The funniest thing I've ever seen at a concert, was when Frampton opened for Journey. Right in the middle of a song....his TEETH FELL OUT!!!   It was hilarious...he just picked them up, put them back in, and said "shit happens!" He just laughed and kept playing. I'll never forget seeing that.

You're not all there.

Captured is Journey at their absolute best. That recording is awesome, especially Perry. Having said that, I doubt Journey will be nominated at all. You know Queen will get a nomination, as well as Bon Jovi(who suck ass live). Rolling Stones will get a nod. I would imagine The Who will be nominated as well. I would think Bruce will be nominated too.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

That was good, but I liked their EP "Wide Awake In America" a bit better. U2 is such a great band.

If You Want Blood - AC/DC
Strangers in the Night - UFO
Live and Dangerous - Thin Lizzy
World Wide Live - Scorpions
Rush in Rio - Rush

All outstanding live albums that have stood the test of time. It probably couldn't be considered because it is so new, but I'd add 'Snakes & Arrows Live' by Rush too. The sound quality is the best I've ever heard on a live album and the BlueRay DVD version is out of this world.
