Looking back, it's pretty sad when a bunch of "pop" stars get together and try to re-invent
themselves to look and sound like hard rockers. It simply didn't work. It's too funny to
see Jon Friga Cain trying to look like a heavy metal star.

On a positive note, I do love Neal's "Schon" guitar. I wish he would
pull one out of the vault and use it on tour again. Great looking guitar.

Always did like the "Schon" had a chance to get one a couple of years ago on ebay, but missed out...
Hearing that reminds me how much I used to love "Neal's sound" back then-he's just too overprocessed now.

I wonder how much their per week expenses were for hair product alone? Love it.

At least enough to rival Poison's hair maintenance budget, I don't doubt.

Well, I certainly preferred Bad English to when Schon and Cain tried becoming New Age artists. Yawn.

I don't know. Remember the ROR tour? I remember thinking 'holy crap Steve's hair has lightening in it.' Given what it looked like throughout the Frontiers tour. It was quite impressive.

Don't be hating on Bad English! I thought they rocked (okay...pop-rocked). They jumped out of the gate with a million-selling album, which is something most new bands don't do. I think it was a great combination of people and I wish they would have done more albums. I have the unreleased third album, but it pretty much sucks. There was only a couple of songs on it worth listening to.

Which one was the third? I think there issue was that no one would buy a ticket to see them live. Well, that and Cain hated the sight of Waite.

The third album was never released. I have a copy of a copy (it's pretty bad quality) that was leaked. I can't remember the name of the album, and it's on my home computer so I can't see it right now. Like I said though...it's not that good. Looks like third time was NOT a charm. The timing was just off for Bad English, with them coming on the scene just as grunge took over the airwaves. Several bands suffered that same fate. Giant was an amazing band, and if they had come out 3 years earlier...Dan Huff would be a household name! If you've never heard them, you HAVE to check them out.

I think a great group of musicians together and some great songs. Love Waite's voice. Neal, as usual, great.

Best song Bad English ever did was "Best of What I Got". The rest of their stuff paled in comparison. That song just ROCKED.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I would like to hear the 3rd unreleased album even if it is not so good. I agree about Giant Dan Huff is not a household name except for in Nashville. He has either produced or played on most Countrty albums put out in the last several years.

Nice, I've looked forever for live footage. Neal had some awesome work in Bad English. Straight to Your Heart is a killer riff-rocker. Some nice acoustic work on songs like Possession and Time Stood Still too

Definitely agree with that, great song! I kinda liked Forget Me Not, too. Neal looks and sounds great. Never been a John Waite fan though, there's just something about him that turns me off. :?

'Price of Love' is my favourite Bad English song by far, much better than 'When I See You Smile'.
And 'Straight to Your Heart' is another great song. I don't understand the popularity of Diane
Warren's songwriting - trite, syrupy, and uninspired. I think it's only the caliber of artists performing
those songs that make them hits.

Yeah, love songs from a woman who claims to have never been in love. Can we say formulaic, children?
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Exactly! I was surprised she admitted that in an interview, but it certainly explains a lot about her lyrics.

The first Bad English album was fantastic, the second had some moments but was pretty lackluster IMO. Third album? Unreleased? MUST HAVE! How do I get it?????

Neal was a machine in that video. I really like Bad English, but I feel that they passed up many opportunities to rock out. "Straight to Your Heart" is, in my humble opinion, their finest moment. It was a truly phenomenal guitar track for Neal and it was great to see Jonathan use the keyboards for rhythm only, rather than some of the more predictable piano beats that he comes up with. For the first album, especially, Jonathan really got to shine with the synths. Overall, though, the first album kicked the second album's ass. Hard.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

Both Bad English albums are classics. For me John Waite, like Perry, is a vocalist who makes you believe every line he sings.

This song has been done by a number of artists, but in my opinion the way Waite spits out the lyrics with venom and sarcasem make this the best version.

Waite's good and he certainly knows how to apply what he's got, but he seems relatively limited on range and strength.
