BTW DS, when you first started all of this "insider info" leaky, leaky crap, you also said SP had work done on his vocal cords and that he was working on this project with someone with the initials H.H. Whatever happened to that solid info and why don't you ever give us any follow up on it? :?

First of all, nice picture of the bitter, jealous and cynical man who ENDED Journey as we all loved it. And we will see about Steve's voice, won't we?
The H.H thing was said by someone who's had inside knowledge of their contact and was never said to be fact, but that contact was made.

I still love the "keyboard muscle" tough talk of some people here. It's very amusing.

How in the world did Herbie end Journey? That makes no sense at all. First of all, Journey is alive and well. Secondly, they were defunct for awhile only because Perry was "toast"

If it weren't for him telling Neal and Jon to "move on", even though they agreed to fire his ass at SP's request, they would have probably kept their senses and waited on Steve's health to be better and they would have completed one of the greatest comeback's ever. The album was already sitting at #3 and a tour would have followed. That's how.

The stone was fractured and HH had a huge hand in helping it crack.

And Journey is alive and well to a degree. The magical era of Journey is gone and will probably never come back thanks to Neil, Jon and HH's impatience.

Keep bringing in a singer for this album, a singer for this album, etc...... It was only ever magic one way and that's gone now, thanks to jealousness and greed.

You're posts are very personal and very aggressive. You haven't PM'D me yet, toughguy. Why?

Bwahahahahahahahahaahaha! Just keep it up - you're making an even bigger idiot out of yourself the more you post!

And yet my PM box remains empty from you. Just as I thought. Another case of mockingbird mouth overloading hummingbird ass.

Trying to get an opinion on a post is made so tough by a few people who want nothing more than to argue over the same stuff over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Why can't you just post your opinion or shut the F up and not read or post on the topic?

I'll either be proven right or wrong soon enough, so why waste time letting people know that you don't believe me? A lot don't and a lot do. Time will tell. But why argue over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over about the same thing? Why post reponses when you have nothing creatively too add to the topic?

Is it just because you like to hear your own gums rattle? I think it probably is.

Herbie hasn't had any direct relations to Journey since 1995 -- before TBF was released. From what I gather, you believe Herbie getting Chalfant and Rolie back into the mix made Neal and Jon stop waiting for Perry after TWO years after they got back together. Silly logic.

Herbie made Journey a household name. He never put an end to the band at all.

if you don't like ms why even read/post in his threads? just ignore.

those that weren't here who just came in to take shots at ms... why not just stay out of it? why make it worse? just ignore ms if you don't like him... that simple.

Well, when I let my imagination play with it...I would say Sade or Sarah MacLachlan that I'd like him to duet with. Now, I'll go back and read thru the thread to see how far off topic it has gone & why do I bother.

And thanks for any defense, but it's not needed. There are enough others. And I'm a big Gunsmoke fan and love Dodge City. Again with the "keyboard" talk. Matt always told cowards to get outta Dodge face to face. Not with typing.

Ok, airfares are pretty steep, so I'll compromise - post your phone number and I'll tell you voice to voice that you are being a twit. Take the metaphorical cotton wool out of your ears and pay attention to what people are saying:

WHAT you are saying is good. HOW you are saying it is not. And you are getting dull.

Do us all a favour - jump in and say something on a couple of other threads. Prove you have an opinion on any other topic. One word on the 'single word' thread. Rate a video clip and post a favourite. Make fun of the big hair in the Bad English thread. Whatever you want. PROVE that you are capable of talking about something other than what Steve Perry may be recording.

I don't think there is a single person on this board who doesn't want what you are telling people to be true. But many here have heard it many times before, and no matter how fired up and enthusiastic you get, they won't take the bait until the guy holding the pole is Steve Perry himself. It doesn't matter how many times you tell us, that isn't going to change. And until you show you have a personality beyond 'look at me, I have info' you are going to get treated like the kid at the party who stands on a table yelling 'I am so drunk' - some will be amused, most will ignore you, and some will throw things and call you names. And until you show you are capable of being more than a one trick pony, then you invite that sort of response.

I'll join the chorus saying I would like to believe you, and I am hopeful, but with respect I will wait for official confirmation before I put on my happy-dance shoes. When and if that confirmation comes, I give you free rein to say I told you so for one entire day. Then I'll tell you to lay off, we got it already. :)

And now, with respect, please learn a little humility. It would also help if you learn to tell the difference between critical comment and a personal attack. Take what is thrown at you with grace and a smile, and you will get far more support than you do sticking your chin out and yelling 'we'll see'. Now please, can you talk about something else for once? Because I suspect you will have some interesting things to say, if you can get off this particular hobby horse.

In other words - "Lay off, we got it already! Next topic, please."

Steve Perry's birthday is this week and he usually writes a new message each year on
Fan Asylum. Anyone laying odds on whether there will be any mention of a new release?
Or even addressing the rumours?

Interesting perspective. I do wonder if Neal would have been more patient and willing to wait for Steve
to have surgery if it weren't for Herbie insisting that he had no intention of touring anyway.

I apologize for being very irritable last night. Many personal things were going on. I'll still always respond when I'm atttacked, by a male OR a female. Maybe a couple posts were or weren't attacks but they were perceived by me as so. If they weren't I'm sorry for responding to them the way that I did.

I still stand behind everything I've said about SP. I feel more confident than ever.

I still stand behind everything I've said about SP. I feel more confident than ever.

Sigh................MS, listen to Arianddu, she is trying to help you.

And grow a sense of humor. Can't you see how telling a girl to grow a pair, would be a bit funny?

We got it, you have self confidence, great! But self confidence is perceived as arrogance after a while..........let be what will be. Smile, post on other topics, bide your time. You could be quite right, who knows? But why make enemies when you could be making friends? :D :D :D Don't get so stressed out over it all................ Geez you would think you had the cure for cancer and everyone was ignoring you! Let it be, that is all I am saying. :D

Wouldn't it be better to have new friends celebrating with you, if you are right, instead of irritated at you? :D

Now, I'm not gonna say any names yet, because I don't have it as 100% FACT and I wouldn't want to be said to be being arrogantly throwing out names  , but if you could pick one person that you'd like to hear him sing a duet with, who would it be?

Yoko Ono and William Hung

Interesting perspective. I do wonder if Neal would have been more patient and willing to wait for Steve
to have surgery if it weren't for Herbie insisting that he had no intention of touring anyway.

Neal and Jon were losing their window to tour. They've talked about it. And it just wasn't that. He stopped with Journey after ROR. He didn't keep in contact with them and starts working on Against the Wall, which wasn't a go, and then did nothing for years. And what was his next project? FTLOSM, a solo project. He toured but cancelled part of it. And because of it appears of pushing by the label and his hearing they we're working with Chalfant and Rolie, he jumped back in with Journey for TBF. In an interview publicizing TBF, they were asked if they were touring. It seems like Steve said it was a possiblity or talking about it (can't remember the exact quote), not, yes, absolutely. Then it's agreed they are touring. Hip problem. Drags it on. So they move on. And, look, all these years, nothing from him until possibly now. How could anyone blame Neal and Jon for moving on? To me, after ROR he wanted a solo career.

I think it's asinine to try to pin Herbie Herbert for the whole Trial By Fire ordeal. Looking back, while I doubt all parties are blameless, that was Perry.

Edit: As far as the thread goes, I have my head so far up the '80s ass that I don't really keep track of modern music. I'm sure Perry must have been an inspiration to a lot of these mainstream rock singers. Is there anyone who springs to mind?
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'
